We originally bought these so we could locate our keys when we inadvertently left them in a pocket or a messy desk. We’ve been wanting something similar for a while, but Tile’s implementation was just purely lackluster. We ended up getting a 4-pack and used the other 2 tags for luggage for trips. This last week we were fortunate enough to be able to take a trip. After deplaning we went through customs, and then sat waiting for one of our bags to arrive on the airport luggage rack. We checked the “already removed bags” location, and didn’t see it immediately and thought it wasn’t there yet… then we remembered we had the AirTags!I opened the app on my phone and it immediately pinged off of the bag and gave me a “18 feet to your forward right”. I found my bag in 2 seconds.I sincerely wish we had more than one option for size and form factor – of interest is one that is able to easily pop in a wallet – because this is a possibility of the Tile brands. My husband did unfortunately lose his wallet on our trip, and now has the task of replacing quite a few cards and ID’s. I’m unsure if it’d have helped in this situation, but it would be nice to have the option.

     1. the Apple AirTag needs a hole to more easily attach it to stuff2. the price should have been $14.993. the Apple AirTag needs to have different chime sounds like the Tile4. Apple should have placed an LED light that flashes so it can be found in the dark or a large bag5. the speakerphone on the AirTag should have been 20% bigger and 40% louder

Adding one of the number of options for attaching the AirTag to your dog’s collar, and you have a nearly perfect way to keep track of your dog. It may not have been designed for this, but it works beautifully. For a flat $29 fee, plus a tag holder to attach it to your dog’s collar, and you are set. The battery is user replaceable. It wouldn’t be ideal for a small dog, perhaps, but for my golden retriever it works very well. And the location tracking ability is much more specific than many designed for dogs. And less costly and without any monthly charges.

It’s important to know they work the way they’re designed to. They came with a little pull tab on them, all I had to do was hold them near my phone and pull the tab, a confirmation popped up on my phone, it asked if I wanted to register using my apple account, I agreed, and I was done. It took only a few seconds. We bought ours for the sole purpose of our toddlers, they love to run, and in a crowded place it’s scary if you lose sight of one. For the most part our girls stay in sight, but if one were to wonder I just have to ask Siri where she is. Siri will pull up the location of the tag, and the tag will beep so you can hear it. I’ve taught my girls that when they hear that sound they are to come to me, I feel as though these are major blessings. They’re also waterproof, ours have been rained on, in mud puddles, splashed by the pool, juice spilled on, and they’re still doing what they’re supposed to. We also have one on our dog, our hope was if he were to run off we would be able to find him quicker. Problem is, these tags ping off of other iPhones, so if there are no other phones in the area, the tag doesn’t work. The batteries haven’t died yet, however I did pick up spare batteries and they were less than $2 a piece, easy to change, takes seconds. The app also shows your battery level. There’s also a large variety of “holders”/“cases” for them, ranging from watches for toddlers, to clip ons with a combination code to take off. If you clip them to something like a bag, and you lost it, someone else could scan the tag, and it would alert you, and give them your information. If you’re considering getting one, I highly recommend them.

Before apple comes out with this Air tag. I’ve spent $200 on tile products because I’ve developed the bad habit of forgetting things and items. The tile was the one I got, it will be able to ring the item near me through Bluetooth. But that tile is not showing the actual battery and it will not work if the item is not in the Bluetooth range!!! More importantly, the TILE app requires you to pay them every month for their premium service which is supposed to be free!!!Pro: I wish I put this air tag in my wallet instead of my car. I just lost my wallet ($1000 cash inside, has tile Slim inside) yesterday and I realized it was messed up. I could not use its app(Tile) to locate where it is. I had no idea where it could be. Unlike Tile, this apple air tag can use other iPhone user’s networks to update its location. Overall, it was a costly mistake by choosing the wrong product.Con: The airtag is not designed to fit perfectly with a wallet. Hope they will come up with something new too. This air tag is the ultimate solution.

Got it for my cat. It’s slightly on the big side (see picture) but he’s handling it well; no issues so far. It’s not for pinpointing his location but gives me an idea of where he is in the neighborhood so I can call him if necessary. To minimize size, get a keychain holder with just the rim

I’ve used Tile, Galaxy Tags, and Airtags, so I this review is based on extensive experience. For people who have iPhones or iPad, Apple’s AirTag is the best finder on the market. Thanks to UWB technology, AirTag provides precise pinpointing of distance and location. Using iPhones “Find My” app, you’ll see an arrow pointing you in the exact direction of your AirTag. It will also and indicate its distance down to how many feet, and when you’re really close, how many inch away it is. This UWB feature requires the finder to be in the same home/office/space as you. If you’re not in the same area as the AirTag, it’s supported by the largest finder network (nearly a billion iPhones active worldwide), so you can find your lost item within most populated cities in the connected modern world!Below is a list of Common Misunderstandings:1. The AirTag isn’t Loud Enough: Not True! AirTag is plenty loud, but many new users have set it up incorrectly. The AirTag must have the white side exposed since that is the side the speaker projects sound from. Apple’s own accessories make sure to expose BOTH the metallic and white sides, but many 3rd party accessories on Amazon feature images with the metal side exposed, but leave the white side obstructed, which looks shiny and nice, but also kills the decibels. AirTags are plenty loud, and the accessories will work fine if you make sure the white side is showing, not the shiny metal side. I expect Apple will address this confusion in future versions of AirTag.2. My iPhone doesn’t show the distance or direction of my AirTag items: In order to use the precise pin-pointing feature that measures in feet/inches and points an arrow at the location, you must have a newer iPhone that supports UWB (all iPhone 11 and iPhone 12 models). This feature also only works if the AirTags are within the same home/office/etc.3. My AirTags stop working when they are at a remote location. Wait a few more minutes – the AirTag will probably show up on a map soon (once another iPhone user passes by, which eventually happens almost everywhere in cities).4. I can’t find my iPhone from my AirTag: That is true, and it’s one feature offered by Tile and Galaxy Tags that AirTag lacks. However, by skipping the ability for AirTags to find your phone, AirTag’s have a more solid build (by avoiding the moving parts of a button), and more importantly, have better battery life. You can always use iCloud from any browser, or an Apple Watch or iPad, to find your iPhone.

SUMMARY: I used the airtag in checked luggage on flight, it started telling me distance when ~ 20 feet away and counted down the distance as it came up to me on the moving conveyer.ADDITIONAL DETAILS: I got this before an airplane trip with two layovers and a borrowed piece of luggage. I put it in my luggage and when I changed planes it was able to confirm that the luggage was on (or near) my new aircraft. During the layover in Atlanta, it also gave me an additional location that was in between my arrival and departure gates and not near me.When I arrived at my destination, I stood back and waited for the airtag to let me know the luggage was near. When it alerted for a distance, I walked up to the circular conveyor and it counted down the distance. I was a little way away from the ramp that brought luggage from overhead to the circular conveyor and initially thought the luggage was on the ramp so was watching that ramp for it. However, the distance counted down and when it got to “2 feet” from me I finally looked down at the circular conveyor and there was the bag right next to me.I was using an iphone 12, so had the U1 chip for precise location tracking.
