C.N. Williamson and E.E. Colonel Dickie began their business careers in the vehicle and harness business in Bryan, Texas. In 1918, they made what turned out to be a momentous decision when they and a few friends established the U.S. Overall Company. Then, in 1922, C. Don Williamson joined with his father and cousin to buy 100% of the overall company on a one-third-each basis and renamed it Williamson-Dickie Manufacturing Company.
From its early years, Williamson-Dickie enjoyed steady growth, slowed only by the Great Depression, and during World War II, the company was sequestered to produce millions of uniforms for the nation’s armed forces. In converting to civilian production after the war, C. Don Williamson began a strategy of geographical expansion and established new production facilities, warehouses, and sales territories throughout the United States. In the late 1950’s, Williamson-Dickie became an international company by expanding into the European market and the Middle Eastern market – where Texas oilmen introduced the Dickies brand to Middle Eastern oil fields.
While Williamson-Dickie began as a bib overall company, today it has grown to be the number one manufacturer of work apparel worldwide. By continually expanding and updating its selection, Williamson-Dickie now offers garments ranging from its staple work pants and work shirts to items such as women’s workwear, chore coats, and denim jeans. These Dickies shorts are exactly what I was looking for. They aren’t nearly as baggy as the 13” cut shorts and fit great. They end up slightly below my knee so they aren’t too short either.

Perfect fit. Perfect shade of desert dray. Most of all, I feel the durability and function of the product as I am wearing it.Update: after almost a year, I added a Navy. The design, quality and fit is both classic yet contemporary… not to mention really functional.

Nice material; more wrinkle resistant than most. Feels more like a dress pant material than typical “duck” work pants. Only one accessory pocket but it’s on the right where it should be, and large enough to handle multiple tools or a cell phone. Sturdy pockets. Regular fit may not be best for everyday manual labor as they may be too confining for lots of squatting, but I can wear these to the job and to the restaurant and they look fine. Tried these in direct comparison to Carhartt, Wrangler, Wolverine, and other Dickies, these and Wolverine Eaton are my top choices.

I like the way these dickies feel, they’re not as tuff of a feel as some of other Dickie I’ve bought. I also like the fit of these regular fit shorts as opposed to the loose fit , they’re more form fitting and it shows my butt better The relaxed and loose fit are too baggy, although I do like them, they just make me too heavier than I am Like i said the regular fit are not as much room around the butt and legs so they make you look much thinner!

I wrote earlier that they didn’t fit. I didn’t realize how .uch weight and inches I had lost while I was I’ll. My bad. Please disregard that negative review. I am now size 38 waist. I didn’t even try them on 3 months. Now too late to return.

Fits like all my other dickies do. I normally wear a 34-36 depending on the brand. These 36s fit nicely around my legs and leave space the size of my thumb between my waist and the shorts. I always wear a belt, so its the perfect amount of extra room. Won’t feel too tight after a nice meal =)One thing to note, even though the product number and description was correct on the tag, the gravel gray color is darker than the product picture. I actually liked it more.

These shorts are great for casual wear and fit just as expected. They are wrinkle free material and look freshly pressed every time I’ve worn them. They are very comfortable and the cell phone pocket is awesome. They are made of quality material and stitching is very durable. After purchasing the first pair, I liked them so much, I went back and purchased them in every color. My only complaint is that I wish they came in more colors and patterns.

Dickies are always 5 stars. If you get too soft Flex ones they’re pretty much comfortable right out of the package. If you get the regular ones you definitely want to wash them once or twice just to kind of soften him up. But these are pretty decent right out of the package but always I wash them a couple times to really soften the material up. I wearing for work I live in Utah it’s hot in the Summers. I do windshield repair and they are go to shorts to wear. The rugged and durable. I put my company logo and name on them on the left leg. They look great. And they look like work clothes but I can also wear them out to dinner or go on a hike and still be comfortable and also look sharp at the same time.

Perfect pair of shorts. So glad Dickies came out with 11 inch length. I had to go up in size due to my hips and thighs. I’m normally a 36/38 but had to do a 40. The waist is big in front but fits perfectly everywhere else. I’m 6’3″, 240. If you have an athletic build with hips and thoughts then you might want to go up a size.
