10 reviews for Acer Nitro VG271 Pbmiipx 27 Inches Full HD (1920 x 1080) IPS Monitor with AMD Radeon FREESYNC Technology

Pros:1. 1080p: gives me 144 FPS on ultra settings. This would not be possible with a 2K or 4K monitor, and this is the primary reason I stuck with 1080p. I sit 2 feet away from my Monitor and the picture is clear without noticing any pixels.2. IPS: great color and viewing angles. You can see good contrast and details in black corners. My other monitor after Acer XFA240 had poor viewing angles (TN panel) and colors.3. Good response times, (1ms) little input lag. You can look at the reviews on other benchmark sites, and they agree this Monitor is plenty fast. I didn’t notice a difference between this and the TN panel at 144Hz.4. Decent speakers. Although 2W each speaker, these are way louder than my other Monitor, the XFA240, which surprisingly had the same wattage rating but did not sound as loud.5. Cross Hairs, multiple options.6. Multiple profiles you can save to and quickly load.CONs:Not height adjustable, but has a Vesa mount so you can swap it out with another monitor mount or buy a better mount.

I would recommend this to anyone who can take advantage of the high refresh rate.Furthermore, the picture quality beat my HP monitor which has a million to one contrast ratio. Best monitor for price in its class by far.

This monitor suits my needs perfectly. I was looking for a nice gaming monitor that wasn’t going to break the bank and this one fits the bill. I picked mine up when it was on sale so got a great value. I have the 1080p version, which works fine for the games that I play and is great for streaming video as well. 27 inches is a little big for 1080p resolution, but its wonderful for productivity and just chilling and watching movies and such. I run mine at the full 144hz refresh rate, and tweaked the settings a bit in the Nvidia control panel and got fantastic results. Running games at 60 FPS with a 144hz refresh rate is just so much smoother and more enjoyable that it’s hard to describe until you experience it yourself. Unfortunately I only have an HDMI out on my PC so I can’t enjoy the Gsync technology for buttery smooth framerates, but even over HDMI its great. Good color accuracy, and super, super bright. I often have the brightness turned all the way down to 0 at night and it’s totally fine. I would highly recommend you set the Overdrive mode to “Extreme” for increased voltage, because this monitor is extremely accurate and there is almost no overshoot or ghosting of any kind (I used the Blur Busters Motion Test to see how well this works). Incredibly crisp when there is a lot of motion and action on screen. It has HDR capability, but honestly thats pretty useless at 1080p, especially the way Windows handles HDR. If you play a lot of first person shooters, or AAA action games and you don’t want to spend tons of money on a 2k or 4k monitor that is probably going to give you the best performance and you won’t have to spend over $1000 USD. Go for it!

I am new to this modern gaming. I have office work computer skills but beyond that I am a gaming and tech noob. I do not strive to be a professional gamer, I only play for fun. That said, I saw somewhere that a monitor like this would be better than my 56” TV. I took the chance when this was on sale and tbh, knowing what I know now, I would have paid full price. The clarity is fantastic, enough adjustments to make it like I want it. This monitor has made my gaming experience 100% better, which I didn’t think was possible. I would buy another one without hesitation.

I’ve played around with having 4K TVs and 4K monitors, and although this is NOT a 4K monitor, it REALLY does the job. Picture is clean and the refresh rate (144hz) is the main reason I got it. I’m an avid gamer and aspiring full-time streamer and need some of the best gear to get ahead. HZ is super important if you want to always be on top of your game.No Problems. EASY to use. The Menu Options take somewhat of a learning curve but I still did NOT need the manual.

I cannot believe no one is raving about this monitor?!… this monitor is magnificent quality and if you’re choosing not to purchase due to the non height adjustable mount, then you’re definitely missing out. You can purchase a vesa mount for it if need be. These specs on this monitor(IPS/HDR400/1msResponse/144hzRefreshRate)are sweet. This Acer VG 271 144hz monitor worked perfectly out of the box and puts my non IPS 144hz monitor to shame.

This is my first 144Hz monitor, and man what a difference. It has that IPS edge glow and the response time could be a bit better, but this is a HUGE upgrade over my previous ancient monitor from the mid 2000’s anyway. FreeSync works like a charm with my GTX 1070. 144Hz with high framerates at 1080p is a glory to behold. The simple thing of smooth scrolling looks so much better than 60Hz. It’s also blindingly bright. If you are after brightness, you hit the gold mine. I have to turn ot down to 30% so I don’t go blind. Heh.The built in speakers are terrible though. Built in speakers for TVs/monitors are never great, but these might be the worst I’ve ever heard. They sound like 90’s budget laptop speakers. My speaker system died so I had to rely on them for a while. Good god. Get external speakers/headphones.Even with the drawbacks, it’s worth it. I’ll update my review if it dies or if anything changes.

Didn’t expect too much considering I paid 210 before taxes. I was also concerned about it being 1080p at 27inches. HOLY crap it exceeded my expectations. Color is pretty dang good and boy can it get bright. It’s not perfect as it does have some light bleeding on the bottom left corner of mine, but it’s hardly noticeable when playing games. Havnt seen a single dead pixel YET. Playing warzone, the game will default to a render size of 4K which gets downscaled into the native 1080p resolution and frame rates can take a major hit but it’s totally worth it for the improved details. Running on a legion y540 with a 2060 and I’m getting roughly 80-90 FPS.I’ll update if I have any issues as it’s only been a day but so far I am pleasantly pleased by this. If this stays the way it is I may just keep this instead of upgrade to an ultra wide. Would rather invest in a better pc to hit that 144hz cap. Using the hdmi2.0 port btw. Hope this review helps.

I’m using 144hz over HDMI 2.0 with my RTX 2060 and 2 other monitors, works great! I did not test 144hz over Displayport with a regular cable as I did not have one, but 144hz did not work with a Displayport to HDMI cable that I had so if it’s not working try another cable. Also check Windows Display Options but when I plugged in with HDMI it auto detected the 144hz.VESA mount is nice although the stand was also good looking. It’s very bright so I’m running at only 20% to match my other monitors. You can modify the preset modes and switch between them fairly quickly so that is also a nice feature I will eventually use. You can mute the speakers directly in the monitor menu but it will probably mess up Windows settings so change those back to your regular speakers once you plug in the monitor. The power button and all the controls are on the right side behind the screen so it is a little annoying to use when another monitor is up against that right side so keep that in mind. There is a very small raised bezel on 3 sides only about 2mm, then a 6mm flush bezel to the screen. This gives it a very nice look compared to my other monitors which have thick 15mm+ bezels and the screen is recessed 5-6mm into the bezel.

Just an amazing monitor for the price. It’s honestly unbelievable! You get a name brand monitor, amazing color, 1080HD, 144hz, with a beautiful picture for a very reasonable price. One of my favorite little features is the buttons on the back. I don’t think I’ve ever had buttons that were easy to use on a monitor, but these are! The best one is an almost joystick like button that makes navigating the menus a breeze if you want to change settings.
