I have owned many different types of phone holders. This by far the best. Every one I previously owned eventually will fall off. Whether it’s from the heat on the suction cups inadvertently bump it, or hit a bump on the road they all fall of. This one is all very mechanically smooth to close and a one button releases it nice and smooth. This is held on using the vent fins on your dash. It stands out away from the vents, so it doesn’t block the vents. This will stay locked on your vent when you hit a bump on the road. This is pot hole season in Ohio and my old one I replaced would have fell off at least once a day. This one stays securely on.

The problem with many magnetic vent clips is that the magnet is often strong enough to pull the clip off the vent when the phone is removed. It can also be more difficult to firmly position the phone at the angle that is most comfortable for viewing. Since the phone today is often the GPS and music source, seeing it clearly and having it safely accessible are critical. This product isn’t magnetic, and it provides easy visibility since one can change both the rotation (portrait or landscape) and the tilt of the phone to get it at just the right angle. It also extends a bit more away from the vent allowing air to flow, permitting me to see the screen embedded into the vehicle dash, and providing easy access to the phone at a consistent position on the dash. Both are important for safe driving. Since it holds the phone quite firmly, it does not move with the touched screen.While I shudder to think what might happen if the holder were inadvertently jarred in some way, the locking mechanism holds the phone firmly in place on the vent, and it was easy to install. When the release button is pressed, the side arms release just slightly making the phone easy to remove and replace. Perhaps the only annoyance on this product is that changing the rotation on the phone requires too much attention to do safely while driving. Other than that, this seems like a well-designed product that met my needs near-perfectly

I am so happy I bought this. For years I’ve been using different types of suction or sticky type phone mounts, and they work great for about a year before the suction stops working or the sticky wears off, resulting in the contraption holding my phone falling while I’m driving which is dangerous. I end up throwing them away which is bad for the environment and my wallet.This air clip design is so clever, its different than other air clips that are more like chip bag clips, since this one has a hook design and locks into place. Such a great design! Took less than a minute to install, super simple. I’ve only had it for a few days but I feel like there’s no reason it won’t last for many years. Don’t waste your money on the suction kind or basic clips, this is the one you want!!

I am so impressed with this product.I’ve tried many other cell phone holders in the past, but this one beats them all, hands down. The instructions for installation were very simple, and so far, this holder has proven to be sturdy in its construction, and it holds my phone in place well, regardless of the driving terrain. This holder is also very reasonably priced.Additionally, I love that it truly does fit different sizes of cell phones. My cell phone is a Samsung Note 9 and my husband’s phone is an iPhone 7, and they both fit perfectly within the holder, even with them being encased in OtterBox phone protectors.Now, I’m considering purchasing more to give out as gifts.

If this fits your phone and car’s vent, it’s an excellent product, which is why I am giving it 5 stars. However, be aware that you may have difficulty with it depending on your phone or car.The position of the side arms in relation to the bottom feet can mean that if you place the bottom of your phone on the feet, the arms will press your volume buttons, causing your volume to either max out or go to 0. I end up having to place my phone about 1/2″ above the feet to avoid this with my Pixel 3a phone. The arms do a good job holding the phone even when the feet aren’t being used, so it’s okay, but it is something to be aware of depending on the placement of the volume buttons on your phone.For the connection to the vent, if your vent fins are too deep, this holder either will not be able to attach or it will take a lot of effort to do so. In a 2014 Honda Civic, it’s extremely difficult to attach this to the vent, but is possible with enough force. Be aware that it’s even harder to remove after attaching it, though again it is possible. If you plan to use this on a 2014 Civic (probably some other years as well), make sure you get it on the right fin the first try. I put it higher than I wanted the first time and it was very hard to remove afterwards to place it on a lower fin. I was concerned I’d break the fin, but apparently they are pretty strong in the Civic. Other cars may have similar issues.I had a car holder years ago that attached in a similar way to the vents and it had a longer reach, so it was possible to attach it to these kinds of vents more easily. This one has a shorter reach, but holds far better than the old one I had. So it is very good, but may give you trouble with your phone or vent.

I’ve you’re looking for a new vent phone mount and are comparing this one with others in your shopping cart. Go ahead and remove the other ones and buy this one. I’ve had an amazon account for about 10 years and have only written a few reviews and this product inspired me because I have gone through several mounts and was getting tired of the rubber brand spring breaking or whatever else would go wrong. I love this phone mount. The clip that mounts to the air vents is super secure and doesn’t loosen like other vent mounts I’ve had. The arms that hold the phone are made with a mechanical grip with a release button instead of the old rubber band spring technology. The other companies need to go back to the drawing board. This is the winner of the air vent mount!

This is the best iphone XS Max holder out there. It mounts to the air vents (honestly a bit kloogy) but, if you follow the directions it works great. My vents are vertical and it holds securely yo the vent and the phone seems very secure. The tabs holding the phone are quite long, which is good. Works with an incipio case plus business card holder mounted to back. Would probably work with ‘pop socket’ or ‘ring’ as well. The piece that connects to the air vent seems long enough to work with all my vehicles. It is a great idea and design and securely holds the phone and allows for input into the micro USB port at the same time.

I have an old Samsung mega galaxy. This is the first holder that securely holds my big phone (including bulky case). I opened the adjustable holder to it’s widest setting and it (just barely) was able to accommodate my phone. Even though it’s only attached by an air vent, it’s surprisingly secure and (so far), hasn’t fallen off. Very happy with this!

While not perfect, it’s very close. I drive an ‘09 Maxima. The center vents have vertical bars, while the 2 outer vents are horizontal. This holder does stick out quite a bit more than my previous (Black Web), so the passenger center vent is my only option for placement. (Far right side of photo)Due to the way this holder is constructed, it does not swivel completely toward me. It’s close enough, so total non-issue. Installation was a breeze.I love the one button release on the back. I’d read other reviewers mention the same, but really, it is so smooth, quick, and all around fantastic.The only drawback for me are the little bottom legs of the holder. While I feel like they’re a great addition, I do wish they extended downward just a bit more. As is, my phone is held higher than I’d prefer, but still not a big deal. I also feel this holder has a very good grip with the bottom legs folded completely in (giving no support to the phone).It’s only been 2 days, but my town full of nasty pot holes and horrible patch jobs has yet to knock it loose. I will check the nut in the back occasionally to make sure it’s still secure. It’s definitely not going to fall off while driving down the road.All this to say, I highly recommend this holder. It actually does what it’s supposed to do!

I’ve used multiple phone holders and nothing compares to the “hook” vent clip design.Impressions:The hook design holds onto the vent slat and there is almost no movement when driving.Very functional and will definitely get plenty of use. I’ve been searching for months for a strong and reliable phone holder and this is it.Installation:Instructions in box are pictures, but it’s pretty straightforward and simple to install.Note: If vent slats are close together you might want to spread the vent slats gently to open a little gap for the hook to fit (so you don’t damage other vent slats).How to remove the product?This part isn’t explained and you can really mess up your vent if you aren’t careful. If it’s a tighter fit, try to rotate the unit 45° so that the hook is off to the left or right side (not hooked on vent). Spread vent slats so you can remove hook without scratching anything.Cons to other designs:Suction cups ruin dash and melts to windshield.CD slot holders can be easily pulled out (not secure fit).Clamp style vent clip holders don’t fit tight enough and fall off with heavier phones.I will definitely be buying more of these for my family cars.
