I am replacing another 24″ 1080p monitor-by samsung. a good mid range monitor that is more business orientated. worked just fine but i saw this Asus at the good low price , it was about $80 less than the monitor i replaced. So far this Asus is perfect, less than a week so far. it is brighter and manages motion on videos far better. did only one quick check on an older game i had handy Deus Ex and the difference is noticeable instantly. far better. the colors are very good in the asus too. offers many pre set under ‘splendid’ that range from very yellow to blue and clear as well as a custom option. lots of features that are only done by hand on the monitor. i did not know or care much. but i would have paid more to get the option with software and managed via the computer. i thought it might hve been. can not find it . no dvd came with this and no downloads available . it is available for double what i paid so i am happy with this model. i can use one of the pre sets and be quite happy. there is a large menu to select various things to control, alter and even set up a couple of pre set short cuts of my own.will add updates after months pass and hope the monitor is just like this for a long time. no dead pixels in case anyone is interested. i use windows 10×64 use the display port now, i did try the hdmi and have been able to achieve the 144hz refresh rate with either

Wow…wow & WOW.I’ve owned this monitor for about 3 weeks now & couldn’t be any happier.I’ve spent ALOT of time tinkering with ALL the settings on the monitor along with my pc hardware.I was able to get 165hz with both gsync enabled/disabled & had no problems at all.I’ve never really been into gsync due to latency issues.Well this monitor does an amazing job at eliminating tears & input lag!I couldn’t any find major reasons why i should disable it besides some minor input lag.Ill be using it for now until i notice any problems & will report if any do appear.Notice: There are some reports of Gsync not working properly causing artifacts, flickering & black screens to appear on screen.Thats manily due to the Gsync software & not the monitor at fault.Multiple threads are available on how to adjust & help fix those issues via software.(Having all Nvidia/GPU/Motherboard drivers up to date helps with any instability issues that may be occurring.)The monitor does come with alot of features that are not really needed or used by the average consumer, but they are nice to have nonetheless.Viewing angles are pretty good for a tn panelThe picture get a bit washed out at an angle but colors stay pretty accurate.Compared to previous tn monitors ive seen this one holds up pretty well.Overall Rating: 5 stars+1 Performance+1 Design+1 Compatibility+1 Features+1 PriceI was a bit iffy about the price when i first purchased it.I do feel like this is a $249.99 monitor at the end of the day.But its an amazing monitor packed with features & delivers with amazing quality/performance for the price. Also came with no dead pixels/defects which is a big plus.P.s. These monitors dont come out of the box ready to plug & play. Some tinkering is needed, with picture modes, colors & settings.Take your time fixing it up to your liking & you’ll be happy with the results.

JUST BUY ITBest budget gaming monitor you will find out there.DONT LISTEN TO THE HATERS, this is the best quality image (IPS panel) and performance (144hz / 1ms) you will get for this price!!!I consider myself really picky, so, trust me when I say you cant go wrong with this monitor.

I’ve only had the monitors for a few days, so while I can’t speak about how they are long term, for now they seem fantastic. I ordered two of these, they were the 1080p 144hz IPS model. Each of them has just the normal light IPS glow that’s with all screens of this type. There is no extreme glow coming out of any corner or the edges, and zero dead pixels. I’m running FreeSync through Nvidia’s Gsync control panel, and it works flawlessly with the displayport cables that are included with the monitors. The monitors have a FPS counter that works with FreeSync, which coming from non-FreeSync monitors, I really appreciate. I can’t speak to how accurate the colors are, I can however say that there are plenty of modes to choose from, each of which you can customize to your own visual preference. It should be noted that the built in speakers are bad, but I never use those because you can’t expect a lot out of speakers in a monitor.I am very happy with this purchase, and would definitely say if you are a gamer and want to stick with 1080p instead of moving up in resolution, these are a fantastic choice.

I bought this to be my second monitor with my other Asus that is a different model from this one. I can say that even though I was never unhappy with my first monitor, this one has a much sharper and clear picture by comparison. I didn’t even have to tune it out of the box as it came with pretty decent default settings. My monitor also came with a DisplayPort cable, which was a welcome change from DVI in 2020, or even hdmi.Gaming experience on this monitor is quite enjoyable and just working on it is also fine. The only negative for is the location of the control buttons. Due to how I have it set up, they are hard to reach on the side, but I don’t expect everyone to have the same problem. The outward appearance of the monitor is not the most outstanding you can get, but it is also pretty good. It does have a bevel around it, but it is quite thin and I personally might even prefer it this way.I have it mounted, so if you are buying it with that intention, VESA 100mm mounts work just fine with it. It has a nice flat cut out on the back for mounting purpose, but you will need to take out the stand from it (which is normal I guess).Overall quite a decent monitor, good price and good picture quality and performance. Oh, and it is definitely 144Hz. You can change it in the video card driver to 165Hz, but since my other monitor is 144 as well, I just keep it at this frequency to not get distracted by the difference.

I have been looking for an ips monitor to replace my current Asus vg248qe for a couple of months now. The problem with the current market of gaming monitors is that most of the ips gaming monitors come in 27″. Since I sit close to my monitor, this would be too large and uncomfortable for my eyes.I almost gave up and was going to settle with a 75hz ips monitor until I spotted the Asus TUF 23.8″ VG249Q gaming monitor. This monitor is the real deal!! I previously gamed on a TN pannel and the transaction to IPS is glorious. Colors are very punchy compared to TN pannels. The only thing I changed in the monitor settings was color temperature. I changed it from warm to normal since it looks more realistic. Other than that, I have not touched any of the other monitor settings. It’s that great! Not to mention, gaming at 144hz is an experience unlike any other and I am glad I didnt have to give that up in order to get an IPS pannel. Additionally, the almost nonexisting bezels makes the monitor look very sleek and save desk space. If you need an affordable 24″ IPS gaming monitor with 144hz, l would highly recommend this product. Even though I only had this monitor for a short time, my expectations have been exceeded!! Buy this ASAP!

Came with display port cable and power cable. Easy to set up. Picture looks great. Not a fan of the built in speakers, however I can see how some would find them useful.Has a 3 year manufacturer warranty once you register with Asus.

I’ve owned this for a month or so, and I have no complaints whatsoever. I bought the 144hz version of this monitor for gaming, and also ordered a displayport cable (for freesync) thinking that it was not included. However, the monitor came with a displayport cable so I was able to return the one I had purchased separately.

PROS:– No dead pixels on mine (this is the one thing I am wary about when it comes to ordering a monitor online)– Perfect size for 1080p (high pixel density at this size)– Brightness and contrast look great– Lots of different settings in the menu– Build quality seems solidCONS:– Speakers sound ok, but not amazing; I personally use headphones so it doesn’t matter to me– Power button should ideally be right below the LED indicator, not half an inch to the left of it– It looks like the border is only about 1/16 inch thick, but the usable part of the LED panel actually ends about 1/8 inch from the plastic frame, so if you are planning on running 2 of these side by side, be aware of that. You will have about 1/4 inch black border (including the frame part) on each side of the monitor. A minor point, but one that should be mentioned. As you can see, there really isn’t much to complain about with this monitor. I set mine for 120 Hz (My current GPU can’t run games at 144 frames per second anyway).Setup was easy. For a couple games I had to delete content of the game’s Settings folder in order to get the game to work with this monitor (namely Doom 2016 and RDR2) because those games stored settings from my previous monitor. It’s hard to find a 1080P IPS that is this fast and has all these features in a small size. Most IPS 1080P monitors are 27″ now, which is too large in my opinion. This is the perfect size for 1080P.

OK so I went in with low expectations, thinking I was gonna regret the purchase. Because this was one of the few monitors still available on Amazon, COVID has really hit the tech market bad and most of the 144hz monitors are all sold out everywhere due to slower imports from China. well anyways I am happy to report that I am 100% happy with my purchase. I went from a VG248QE from 2013 to this model, And its a night and day difference compared to the other Asus monitor.OK lets get this out of the way, This is a TN panel, But you may have noticed other reviewers saying it has dull colors out of the box. This is true, But a simple color adjustment in the saturation and contrast easily fixes the issue. I would even go as far as to say this monitor has better colors than my IPS from dell which I use regularly for photoshop editing. I have literally no complaints about the colors at all. This monitor has probably the lowest motion blur or ghosting of any high refresh rate monitor I have ever used. Even if you are actively looking for ghosting/trailing you cant find any at all. The image is so smooth on the screen its comparable to viewing a real life image in motion. Games look so butter smooth its like my eyes got a huge upgrade. This monitor is worth the price alone just for it supporting G-sync, Because most other G-sync monitors are in the $300+ price range. Also this monitor supports 165Hz out of the box despite me believing you needed to overclock it to achieve this refresh rate, It had the 165Hz option right there in the Nvidia control panel and activated without a single issue.Final Thoughts: I just cant say enough good things about this monitor. Absolutely zero motion blur or ghosting and it has one of the cleanest moving images of any monitor I have used int he past.Seriously Dont debate on getting it, JUST BUY IT! You wont regret it.Other tech info: this monitor had a manufacture date of June 2020 for those of you who want to know if this is a newer model.
