This is the monitor to get if you are a laptop user and want to just have one thing plug into your laptop for power, A/V connection, etc. You basically get a powered docking station and a high quality monitor all for the price of a powered docking station. Once I realized that, I knew this was the monitor I wanted.I do have a couple of complaints that are rather small and not enough to knock it down a star. First, I wish the Dell soundbar would attach to the bottom of the screen instead of to the monitor base. It’s just less clean looking with the attached-to-base set up. Second, I wish there was some sort of clip for attached a webcam without it overlapping the screen. At the same time, the tiny bezel is great for a two monitor set up, which is probably worth the tradeoff. Third, though I love the convenience of the 2 USB ports on the side (in addition to the 2 in the back), these side USB ports aren’t useful with a 2 monitor set up. At the same time, if you had the 2 monitor set up, you’d still have access to 6 USB ports for plugging in peripherals, which should generally be sufficient, but buyers should be aware of that.Again, if you’re looking for a one plug solution for docking your laptop and keeping it charged with all of your peripherals plugged in and ready to go, this is the monitor for you. The few imperfections are tiny, and everything else is high quality. And the aesthetics of the monitor are classy and modest — no shiny surfaces or giant logos or bright accent colors.Thank you, Dell!!!!!

With this whole work from home thing I missed having my docking station at work. But i also do not like having wires everywhere. With this monitor I was able to plug my mouse USB dongle into and it picked up right away using the supplied USB-C cable. It also charges my mac book, so i just need to plug in the USB-C cable to my laptop. However you still need to have the monitor plugged into the wall.

I bought this monitor for connection to my laptop and I would like to point out one bit of confusion. This is NOT a USB powered monitor even if connected from your computer to USB-C port on the monitor. The monitor itself MUST be plugged in. On the plus side, there is no brick adapter… it is a straight power cable like those you typically see on a standard PC. That said, if you have a Thunderbolt port, the monitor will keep your PC charged. So effectively you can still run your laptop with only the USB-C cable connected. There is no need for a separate charger assuming your laptop supports charging via the USB-C port. I’m running an LG Gram 17 and that’s exactly how it is working. Beyond the connection confusion, the monitor is beautiful and worth every penny.

Here is a simple review for non tech savy people. I have a Mac for my work computer (MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Four Thunderbolt 3 ports)). I needed a monitor that connected to the USB C port on my computer. This does the job.Took ~5 mins to assemble/setup. Turned on the monitor, plugged into my Mac and bam, my display appeared. It appears as another desktop screen rather than a duplication of my current screen. You can drag and drop items over to view. I am sure if you instead wanted to duplicate your screen, you could configure it on your Mac’s settings. It charges your laptop at the same time. It does not have added speakers, but my mac speakers + headphones are sufficient for that. The screen size is good, especially in comparison to my 13 inch display. I am not sure if the height is adjustable, but you can tilt the screen back and forth a bit.I got so tired of looking at monitors trying to figure out if it would be compatible with my Mac. This does. Search no more. And for the price its well worth it. I am looking forward to not hunching over my laptop while I am working remotely.

Bought this monitor because it somewhat matched the one I had already for my PC, but wanted one with USB-C input for my MacBook Pro. Not only did it match size wise and brightness, but having USB-C input worked perfectly with my laptop (only complaint is that USB-C does not pass audio along with the video, nothing to do with the monitor… The speakers in the laptop work just fine for alert noises and the like anyway). Bonus Nachos, the monitor rotates even though my existing monitor doesn’t. Makes my programming so much easier! I didn’t see that as a feature on the amazon page, (or I completely missed that, who’s to say) but I was delighted that it does. Overall, I’m pleased with this purchase.

I bought the Samsung Curved and this monitor to make a decision for my home office. Whereas the curved is nice and draws you in, it couldn’t hold a candle to the sharp text on the dell. It was significant. The Dell is a little on the heavier side compared to some of the ultra thin monitors but I like that the height is adjustable and it can swivel vertically if I wanted to. The size is perfect for my small desk. 27” offers more bells and whistles but it’s way too big. I’m very happy with the Dell. I only wish a curved monitor can have all the features and clarity as the Dell. Dell wins! Plus the hub is nice for thumb drives.

Great picture quality and love the Type-C PD with DisplayPort 1.2 daisy chain support. I’ve totally eliminated all the extra cables and docks in my setup for these monitors.

I just received this Dell P2419HC monitor, and I am impressed with its quality. I’m using it as a 2nd monitor with a 2019 MacBook Pro. I’ve owned personal computers since 1985, but this is the first time I’m using a two-monitor setup. I will soon begin a new job working from home as a tax expert for a software vendor. Other such experts recommend using a second monitor for this type work. First, the packaging was very well designed to protect the product. It required assembly of the stand and attaching it to the screen. The instructions for doing so were drawings with no words. But I found the process intuitive without the drawings and assembly only took about 5 minutes after unwrapping the pieces. The sturdy stand is very well made and everything clicked into place easily. There were two connecting cables furnished, one with USB-C plugs on both ends (perfect for my use), and the other with DisplayPort plugs on both ends (for Windows computers?). After plugging in the power cord to an outlet, and attaching the item to my MacBook, a menu appeared on the screen to choose language. But no instructions on how to do it. So, I used my iPad and Googled “P2419HC manual.” A PDF file appeared which is a 62-page document with very well written instructions on every aspect of using the monitor. There’s tons of ways to adjust brightness, color, sharpness, contrast, etc., trouble shooting, cleaning, warranty, dos and don’ts, etc. But I didn’t have to do any of this. The monitor image was perfect from the get go. Now, I’ve only used it for one day and I am perfectly satisfied so far. Nuff said. I’ll update this review sometime in the future.

I would definitely recommend it to others.Note that Apple seems to its best drivers for external monitors for USB-C — because USB-C/Thunderbolt is used as the video output on Apple’s laptops. I had an occasional problem with “snow” and/or a distorted display upon startup when I was using my old HDMI monitor; I googled the problem, a few other users had the same problem; switching to this USB-C monitor fixed it.
