I like this little Echo Show right beside my bed. I can see the weather, date, and time when I get up in the morning! It plays my favorite radio station while I am getting dressed. I can ask about any packages and I can see my saved photos! Not to mention, i have it linked to other devices including my mother’s Echo Show two states away. Well worth what I paid for it!!!! The only negative are the ads! But I just need to sit down one day and go through the steps to remove them!

I had no idea how bad I needed this in my life until I actually got it installed. This came free with my purchase of five blink cameras and I’m absolutely obsessed! I love that my kids can asked to see different cameras around our house in case they are home alone they can see what’s going on. I also was able to FaceTime my son from this device and he was able to call me which is great considering we don’t have a landline and he couldn’t find his iPad when he got home to call me. I don’t even think I’ve scratched the surface on some of the things they can do but if you were looking for a new gadget to pair with your Alexa devices this is definitely the one to get!

I was pleasantly surprised with the video and audio quality of this. It was a breeze to set up, and I have a regular echo in the same room (kitchen) and if one responds the other does not, and if we are listening toMusic on the Show, but the other hears and responds to us, the music continues on the Show but Alexa follows the command. Example- we are listening to Country music on the Show, and my son says “Alexa, play Christmas music” my Echo hears us and responds with, “Here’s a station you might like, “New holiday hits on Amazon Music” and she changed the station on the Show. I was worried they would both respond or get confused but it’s been seamless. I also love that I can watch a YouTube video or watch Netflix while I’m cooking. I think I will be buying another to use as a camera in my sons room because he has terrible separation anxiety, but if he knows I can see him he will feel more comfortable as we currently use the drop in feature if he’s taking a bath and I need to be in another room.Don’t expect crazy good audio quality, but it is considerably better than I expected.

The versatility of this device is amazing. I am by no means what you might refer to as “cyber smart“. I belong to the generation of the 60s and 70s and I was not raised with IT devices or knowledge. However in the case of this Alexa device I find that it is much easier to understand by virtue of the tutorials and on screen “how to“. I also purchased the plugs that allow lamps and other devices that you might plug into the wall to be controlled by “Alexa“. The timer is extremely useful when cooking roasts and other dishes that require monitoring by time and or temperature. Although I am Not what you would consider as an informed evaluator, from the standpoint of a relative neophyte I am extremely pleased with the functionality and most recently the Lower price. I rated it four stars in several categories for the main reason that they have not updated any of the functionality since it was first marketed. Being partially deaf the treble and bass of the unit are beyond my ability to evaluate but I do find that I can crank up the volume sufficiently to hear Alexa across the room. I have recommended this device to several of my other “older generation“ and all are pleased as punch with it.

Disclaimer: Got basically for free during Prime Day with purchase of Blink cameras. This Echo Show 5 is actually pretty awesome. Music quality is great and WAY better than the Echo Dots (compared to Gen 3 and Gen 4). Live view from my phone’s Alexa app doubles this as an indoor security monitoring device (although no motion detection). I like how it notifies you when someone (with account access) is live-viewing and you also have the tangible plastic sliding cover that covers the camera for privacy (colored white so you can easily see when slide is covering camera). Overall awesome product and would definitely pay full price for one when if I decide to get another. My only gripe is that they designed the speaker to project from the bottom front, which has a slight bevel so it’s raised off your table surface and projects down and forward about 45 degrees (this helps with bass and overall sound projection)…however, this causes the camera to point up about 45 degrees as well. So if you prop the back of the unit and tilt it forward to be able to see farther in your house for home monitoring purposes, you need to remember to sit it flat again or else the sound is muffled from titling it forward and covering the speaker. They should make a little wire cradle that allows the face of the unit to sit 90 degrees (vertical) from the table or surface it’s on and still be able to project the sound properly.

We have the 1st and 2nd generations of the Echo Show. The voice recognition is wonderful! We have used it to get our messages, turn off and on lights, and phone calls with video. It’s nice that Alexa works well, her voice is very clear, you can change the volume and brightness on the app, or by the touch screen. I also love that we can put in our own family pictures and it just rotates through them throughout the day. I love our Echo Shows and hope to have one in each area of our home.

Me gusta mucho al igual que a mi hijo de dos años. Tiene excelente reconocimiento de voz y muy buena calidad de audio y video.

I bought my kids the echo show kids version for their the castle fort they have in their room. After setting it up, I felt like one would suit me perfectly. That it would help me stay organized and on track. This device is neat. But, it’s not a mircle worker. It will only help you, if you want to help yourself. I found it to be nothing more than an overpriced clock. I didn’t find any of the features useful and it just sat there, telling me the time. The only use it did get was when my daughters used it to listen to music and watch videos. Things they couldnt do on theirs because they had used up their alloted time on their kids echo show. But, the system itself if youre an organized person with lots of day to day activities. I would reccomend this to start and end your day with. It’s nice if you live the kind of life that motivates you to move at the same pace as this device was meant for you to go.For laid back people who don’t really need to adhere to a strict schedule day to day, it has the potential to make you lazier than gou already are. “Echo show me the kids room”Um no! Get your butt out of bed and go interact with your kids!

I wanted to get an alarm clock and the other smart one I had which was cheaper, because it didn’t have a smart screen wasn’t useful and user friendly as an alarm clock as this. Yes this is an overbuilt alarm clock, but what I want to use it for is what I am reviewing. I am on the other ecosystem, but always like Alexa dedicated units like this Show because of how intuitive and easy to use. The screen is bright and as dim as you need it. You can change the type of alarms and link skills to it that make it a more useful nightstand companion in addition to the alarm clock I intended it to be. I really have no negative to say other than maybe it is a bit too bassy even when playing with the volume and equalizer. But that is a small quibble. The show is an awesome smart speaker. If I was not already deep into the other ecosystem, I would love to get onboard with the Amazon. The style and screen can adapt to your decor. It does not clash in ways that I would thought it would. I really couldn’t say anything more than this is a great smart speaker to use and would recommend it over the competitors.

Although my husband and I had discussed getting an Echo, we weren’t sure what we would use it for as our house isn’t really set up as a smart home. Then he won one in a raffle at work. Even though we don’t have compatible lights or television, I find myself talking to Alexa several times a day. I check the time and the temperature, ask her to set reminders or a timer, ask her how long to cook something, etc. I’ve also used her to send photos and make a video call to my nephew and his family. I now want to make some changes here at home in order to make further use of the smart capabilities of the Echo. The first step will be upgrading to smart thermostats for both upstairs and downstairs. I’ve also purchased some smart plugs so we’ll be able to control lights and such that are plugged in. All in all, I’m very pleased with the Echo Show!
