It is so hard to find jeans that fit my son who is pushing 6’8, but barely 200 lbs. In stores, the big and tall sections don’t have anything for tall and skinny guys, especially high schoolers. And if he does find something he likes, it costs three times more than average sizes. We have come to Amazon for quite awhile now to find him pants and shoes (size 18!) These jeans fit him so well. They are plenty long without being overly baggy in the waist and thighs. He really likes how comfortable they are, and how soft the denim is. Also, they were really decently priced for Levi’s.

I’m 5’6″ with a 30″ inseam and a (tape measured) 35″ belt line (more on that later). I have tree-trunk 24″ circumference thighs, so anything other than ‘relaxed fit’ is squarely ‘skinny jean’ territory for me. These relaxed fit jeans give me enough room to hold stuff (knife, keys, etc) in my pocket without squishing them.In general, pants sizing is stupid because, regardless of the brand, the numbers don’t actually represent inches. According to the tape measure, my belt line has always been 34″ – 35″. I’ve always worn 30’s, but I’ve gained a little weight recently, so I went with 31’s this time and they fit my current 35″ belt line very nicely! The 30″ inseam does seem pretty accurate as that’s what the tape measure says I am and that’s also what I ordered. Length-wise, they come right down to the back of my ankle/shoes, but don’t drag, so pretty much spot-on for me.I ordered 2 pairs at the same time and both pairs match, and fit, the same.

I ordered the stretch version of these. Some are stretch and some are not. It depends on which color you choose. I wanted the most comfortable pair of Levi’s I could find and I bought a pair of 559’s a while back in a stretch color and they are so much more comfortable than the other non-stretch pairs I own. The other jeans were not 559 Relaxed fit either though. I have a bit of a belly (not too big) and sitting for long periods of time can be tough in my other jeans. These have big pockets that swallow up my large size iPhone as well. I may order more of these since they are so comfortable.I can’t speak for the non-stretch colors. I didn’t pay any attention to the stretch logo on my first pair but I quickly noticed that they did stretch and it was a wonderful surprise. This pair was ordered specifically in a stretch color for that reason.

I know that Levi’s does not put double belt loops on their jeans, at least not that I have found. Other brands seem to think there is some use for these. My belts are just he right size to be tight in the small one and threading it through just the large one is even more of a PITA than just forcing it through the small one. Worst is airport security while trying to put the belt back on with people lining up behind me. I wish these things would go away.Overall the fit of these jeans is just what I was looking for. I have relatively large thighs from years of skateboarding and bicycle riding. Before I had this belly, I would sometimes buy larger waist pants to fit my thighs. One other area that seems better on these than my other recent favorites is that the fly is longer. Making it easier during bathroom trips to not tear holes in my junk on the zipper.

I don’t clothes shop often and utilized the Prime “try it on 1st” program. Last time I purchased casual jeans was well over 10 yrs ago and simply duplicated my last two pairs of pants and reorder via Amazon (the best company in the world mind you). They arrived on time all fit perfect so no need to send back. Waist, length all perfect. I am 5-9, 175 lbs size 34 waist and pardon my language “hung like a race horse”. Because of this added feature I need a certain cut to my jeans around the crotch and these were perfect.BS

Levi 559 are my favorite type of going out Jean’s. I wouldn’t wear these if I was outside working or when I know I’ll be bending down a bunch. Reason being I feel these are low cut.(I’m a regular guy not a fashionista) The Levi 550 are my alternatives for work and play since they are much more relaxed than these 559 and it has a much higher waist which is great if you’re a lil chubby and you don’t want your butt crack hanging out while you work. I would buy the 550 all the time however they don’t look as good as these 559 when you wear them. It’s either have a nice looking pair of pants that are a little tight until you break them in or have a comfy functional pair of pants that dont look as good. I have yet to find an in between with the best of both.

I have been exclusively wearing Levi’s 559’s for my denim for many years and I have always loved them. One thing that I didn’t pay much attention too when ordering my most recent pair, is that it said “stretch” in the size. Stretchable jeans are new to me, but they are still comfortable. If you decide to go the stretch route, I suggest buying a size that is 1 size smaller than you typically wear, as these things are cut big.

I have had a pair of 559 jeans that have been my favorite jeans for years. I have a variety of other brands as well including Nautical, American Eagle, and Tommy Hilfiger. It took me ordering 3 different pairs of 559 to find the ones that fit exactly like my old ones. I realized that not all 559 colors are the same cut or feel with many different materials being used which is very confusing way for Levi to market jeans. If they are different cut and material change the model name at least! Anyway, I learned what I was looking for was 100% cotton, and now this pair fits me like a glove. 5’10”, 205, 35” waist and the 36×32 were perfect (34×32 too tight). For reference another pair of 559 98% cotton in 36×32 were way too big! Ended up with 34×32 in the 98% cotton 559s and still a bit on the loose side but kept them as well (100% cotton definitely more durable feeling material!).

After years of not being able to find comfortable fitting jeans, I FINALLY have found my ticket! With a very stocky build (fat butt & thick thighs), jeans have always been a challenge. Not only are the 559’s very accommodating in the seat & thighs, but the stretch fabric (Novarro & Bebop colors) is extremely comfortable and forgiving in the waist. I love these jeans!

For real, nothing beats this exact fit (559 Relaxed Straight). I owned a pair that’s lasted me many many years and now it’s starting to fall apart. It’s protected my legs from hot slag while welding, never caught fire btw, and provided a nice outer layer in bitter cold weather. It’s a champion workhorse among jeans whether you’re in your steeltoes putting in your hours or your in your best cowboy boots hitting the town, and the best part, it’s so comfortable!Foolishly I tried out other brands and fits of jeans just to try something new and I hated all of them. This slim fit craze drives me nuts because it’s all I find in my local stores and those things not only look ugly, while highlighting a lack of muscle in your lower body just sayin’, I can’t see why any man would subject themselves to such uncomfortable levels of clinging to your nuts!So I’ve finally come home to this pair of pants and I think I’ll never let it go. I now own a brand new pair of these and intend to get more in the future. Feel the difference!
