I’m a network engineer and wanted good WIFI coverage though out my 2000 sq ft home. I tried every popular one out there before I selected Linksys as the winner. Of course if this didn’t work I would have to pony up big bucks for a n enterprise level system. The things I like about this system is the tri-band function. You have 2 bands for clients and 1 band for AP communication. This is where I found most systems to fail and loose a lot of BW between the complete mesh. Other products share the management bandwidth with clients. This causes a huge derogation in your signal. I also wanted WIFI 6. Others had it but Linksys was the only system that would be able to offer it across the mesh. I’ve owned my Velop for over a year now and just added 2 more APs in the house to support all my WIFI devices. My house, although not very big. did experience signal loss between rooms for unknown reasons. I would use a WIFI scanner and notice my signal drop from the main location to the farthest one which caused a weaker signal to my clients. I have a total of 4 APs in my house now and I placed them all in areas where 5Ghz would be lost. Now I get WIFI 6 from my garage to my pool and it is a consistent strong signal with minimal loss. However a house my size should have been able to get away with 2. With a Mesh system you should only get what you need because you can actually hurt your signal strength with too many APs. This system is pricey but if this doesn’t work your next option is going to an Enterprise size system that will cost a lot more. My next steps would have been TP-Link or Ubiquiti Uni-Fi.

Whaaat?!? A consumer product with real technical support? This is it. They are helpful, they actually listen to you, if you chat, they read the whole chat. They don’t repeat asking you to do the same thing over and over. And, when they are temporarily stumped, they don’t hang up on you. Also, no long periods of silence between responses. They take their support seriously and they deliver! The product works great. I have a large house and three of these devices (“nodes”) cover the entire house easily. Speed with one network ID (“SSID”) everywhere which means I don’t have to flip to different networks if I’m out of range. Also, no matter where I am, I can print to my printers connected to my wireless LAN.Highly recommended.

Works great! WiFi 6 support plus tri-band with DEDICATED router-to-router communication channel. This is what matters much more than catchy names and glow in the dark “feature” many other brands focus on trying to justify the prize tag. The speed and coverage are excellent. My internet connection is 230Mb when connected by wire and 215-220Mb when connected via WiFi pretty much anywhere around the house.

Very easy to setup. Just download the app from Apple and follow the easy instructions. Installation took less than fifteen minutes.I am a IT Technician but don’t let that deter you. Linksys makes it very easy to install and add devices.I have a 3,400 house (two story with basement) and have the node installed on the main floor. I get consistent and reliable coverage on each floor. I don’t think that I will require an additional node, but won’t hesitate to buy another should the need arise.I am happy with the purchase.

I bought these for my friend Craig. Craig plays keyboards for Bob Seger, so he has a big house on acres of land with three outbuildings. He already had a two pack of the AC2200 triband in his house. I ended up resetting the old pair and set up the 3 pack AX4200 spread out in the house. The 1st outbuildings is 75 yards away. I put one of the AC2200 high up on the nearest wall to the house then put the other 25 yards away from that building in a five car garage. It was all a gamble, but they are all stable and stay connected. Craig can now listen to Wi-Fi music and stay connected across 12 acres. I was impreesed. If you want great coverage, you can’t beat Linksys. The app is easy to use and manage too. All 5 nodes were setup within 30 minutes. Best thing is they were all compatible.

My smart 1400sqft multi-story Townhome suffered for a very long time with Wi-Fi issues and couldn’t reach the rooftop!Winner is ((( Linksys AX4000 Smart Mesh Wi-Fi 6 Router Whole Home WiFi Mesh System, Tri-Band AX Wireless Mesh Router MX8000 )))I have 43 connected devices including products from Apple, HP, August, Hue, Zigbee, Z-Wave, Samsung, LG, Google Home, and Lutron. I only wrote it because I spent 5 months trying to find the best network for my house! 🙂

Picked up the two pack thinking I could easily find another child node easily. I have had trouble even figuring out what the right matching model number would be. I am surviving with two but a third would be nice. This purchase was to replace a Linksys AC router that was aging and to cover a few dead spots in the house. It was easy to setup. I did have an issue getting it setup because I had initially connected both Ethernet cables from my NAS. After realizing I needed to do this afterwards, setup was a breeze. It takes a little time getting used to a mesh when you are used to a single router. It just acts different. But it works just fine. I have a 3200 sq ft L shaped two story house and coverage is good. Back haul is still wi-fi.The app has always needed work and has always needed more features with regards to granular router settings. I’ve used Linksys for a couple decades and haven’t seen a real improvement in all that time.Uploading large files to my NAS is very fast. I am a heavy streamer and have had no buffering that I could blame the mesh for. I have seen random disconnects from some Motorola mobile devices but that could be the phones themselves.I would recommend to a friend and already have.

I was upgrading from an Apple Extreme router that was rock steady and never had to touch. It just worked. But, with a bigger home it had areas it would not quite reach. I first bought the Orbi WiFi 6 three pack and I had immediate problems with it. It dropped the internet connection 4 times in the first 24 hours requiring a reset. I returned that to Costco right away. I don’t bother with customer service on a product that is that unstable from the start.I then purchased the Linksys WiFi 6 three pack and I’ve had it now for a month without once dropping internet. I now get my max 400 speeds at every corner of my home. Very happy with it!

We had 3 nodes in the house, the original Velop system that worked overall fairly well with (about 70 devices) but speeds were less then desirable. Nothing bad or anything but with the increase in streaming devices and wanting to upgrade looked around a bit at the various options. Having been using Linksys products for many many many years, looked at the newest MX series and based on reviews, had too many concerns about compatibility with some of the older devices, (mixed mode may not work), etc….So looked at these and they are much better priced and could get 2 – 3 packs (total of 6) and truly blanket the house. With the 3 nodes we had it was barely reaching the back and front of the house and nodes had to be in one or two particular spots, otherwise they wouldn’t connect. Considered adding nodes, but since ours were first gen and given the cost, this package seemed to be the best option for the money.Since it was almost an identical swap, screen grabbed all the settings from the original velop, manual dns servers, dyndns, port forwarding, all the individual wifi rules, all those little things that you might forget about….and proceeded to switch everything over using the same network name (hoping that everything would just work). Started up and configured the main node (it is acting as the router) and the internet was only down for only about 10 minutes while everything was setup to provide the basic wifi. Worked like a charm. That single node seemed to blanket the house really well, even the furthest bedroom that was always problematic could get a signal.Wondering if I might have regretted buying 6 of them…..speed testing the wifi proved that this wasn’t a mistake. Proceeded to setup 2 nodes downstairs and then 2 more nodes upstairs. Turns out this was a good thing. Testing the wifi upstairs with only router, there was definitely a speed impact. Also found that the wifi adapter on the computer in that room was a bit older so just used the wired connection to the node and worked great, no more having to worry about where the node is in the room either.Thought I was done and then found out that a laptop downstairs couldn’t see the new network….was going what the heck??!?!?!?! So grabbed a usb wifi adapter and after a little research, some chipsets did not play well with the newer wifi6 stuff….downloaded the new driver from intel (released oct 2020 -to fix this problem)…..super! Can see the network and get the same high speed connection there as well.Spent another 25-35 min putting in the settings from the old system so that all the ‘stuff’ we have still works, all total (w/o the laptop wifi issue) less than 2hours to setup 5 nodes. Yup only 5…still have the 6th, but haven’t figured out where to even put it…the signals are so strong everywhere now, even the garage, that don’t see a need. That said, paying for 6 and only using 5…still less expensive than buying the newer mx stuff. If you don’t need bleeding edge tech, but want something that’s new enough and just works, these are really great and honestly easier to setup than the original Velop, as those were first gen tech. They have only been running for less than 24 hours but hopefully they will provide many years of service, as the original Velop has done.

Changed my wireless to this which allows for over 40+ connections (yes Hue lights, gaming consoles, iWatch and so many other devices we dont consider (i have 3 smart tv’s at home) all need a good connection, and with this, connection is blazing fast, its expandible if you need to cover more area, and its future proof, so invest and the set up is lightning fast through the Linksys app. Easy to use, and I am not a techie so this was a great solution for my upgrade at home.
