I personally don’t like to pay $700 – $1000 on a phone. It was time to upgrade to 5g and I looked at a number of phones in the $300 – $500 range and decided on the Motorola One 5g Ace (released January 2021). I’ve had the phone only for a few days, but I can already tell that I made a good decision. It arrived with Android 10 and will upgrade to 11 soon. Beyond that, honestly I don’t know. The camera is very good and the OS is clean and unbloated. With a great processor and 6 Gb of RAM, everything just works like it should. Having 128 Gb of on board storage and the ability to use up to a 1Tb SD card, I don’t have to worry about filling up my phone. Yes, the body is plastic… don’t care; it looks great. I have to use a cable to charge it… no problem. It’s got a huge battery, so the Ace doesn’t need to charge very often. This phone also has an earphone jack, just in case you forget your bluetooth buds. So, I can’t say that YOU will love it or hate it, but this phone is highly recommended by me if you’re shopping in the midrange category. Check out the specs for yourself.

I usually buy top of the line phones, but this one caught my eye because of the 6.7″ display, expandable storage (up to 1T MicroSD) and clean lines, so, given the price, I took a chance. I’ve been very impressed. It is not full of bloatware, which I appreciate. The Motorola-specific settings are actually useful — like disabling adaptive brightness during gaming. I love that it has BOTH face recognition and fingerprint scanning for security, allowing me the ease of facial recognition at home but the convenience of fingerprint when I’m out, wearing a mask. They both work flawlessly. I enjoy the convenience of a headset jack independent of the charging port. I have tons of screens active all the time, including video streaming, and it doesn’t seem to lag at all – the processor is plenty for what I’m doing. All in all this has proven to be a great phone.

Hello I purchased this Moto One 5g Ace 2021 not sure if it would work with Verizon prepaid because of some of the reviews. I bought it anyways to see for myself. I took it to a Verizon reseller store to get a 5g sim for it. When they tried to activate the sim it would not go through on there stores computer system. They tried multiple times and it wouldn’t work. This was for a prepaid account I was transferring from my old phone. So the representative called prepaid Verizon support and gave them my phone number and account security code as well as the 5g sim number they were trying to activate my phone with. Verizon support put it in there system and it activated successfully. I tested phone calls and I can send and receive phone calls clearly. I can also send and receive texts rapidly. I also have access to the 5g network and it works well. I also added the mobile hotspot feature to my Verizon prepaid account for 5 dollars a month and it works too. So all the functions of data and voice calling work with Verizon prepaid on this phone. The IMEI number is recognized in Verizons system as of 7/6/2021. And for a while before that as well. You just might have to call customer prepaid support to get it activated. Hope this resolves any worries you have about getting this for Verizon prepaid.

So far I am in love with this phone price battery screen and finding out that this one has 6gb of ram instead of 4 gb love the extra power , bought 4 , 4g cellphones til I ended up with a phone that I actually liked and I’m keeping this til I break it lol

By gesture driven, I mean there is no traditional “home” button. At first this threw me off because I have had either Samsung or Blackberry phones for my cell phone needs for years. I stopped buying carrier locked phones a long time ago and only buy unlocked. This being due to limitations preset on phones by carriers and bloatware as well as slow update rollouts. With no home button, it takes some limited getting used to, but there is a homescreen Moto app that trains the usage very well. Basic swipes for what you want to do, and most if not all are able to be done one handed. That seems to be the goal here. One neat feature that impresses those who have seen me do it, is the double chop gesture that turns the flashlight on or off.Battery life is the BEST I have had in any cell phone. I work overnight and sometimes use my phone to stream Youtube or Broadcastify as I work. Never in a 10 hour day, even streaming, has the battery been lower than 81%. That tells me that 2 days is an easy get for battery life, especially if not streaming etc.The camera is solid. It offers to switch to night mode or macro mode if the sensor sees that may be better, but lets you decide. I like that.As to data transfer from my old phone, I used the intuitive Moto app to do this. It came up on first start. It transferred all but a few apps, because they were unsupported old apps or based on Samsung specifically as my old phone was a Samsung 9+. I did have to sign back in to apps, but that is okay. That is with all such transfers, even within the same family of phones. It is slightly heavier than the Samsung 9+, but has a solid feel. One side note that is a con for me, but not a deal breaker. This phone does not do wireless charging. One must use a type C cord. Of course it comes with a cord, but it is a very common type right now if one wants to buy aftermarket ones that are longer. As I liked the stand charger I used with my old phone, I came up with a solution with an Amazon product.A stand https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B07B2WNNB2This stand allows the cord to drop down from the phone and stand up without overbinding the cord. As my phone is my alarm clock, this is a great way I figured to do it.Do get a case for the phone. The one I got was suggested when I purchased it and is called Osophter for Moto G 5G. I like the case. Simple and buttons are not blocked or hindered.5G. Yes, it will do 5G where it is available. I do get 5G in most places I go. Where there is not 5G it seamlessly switches to 4G or even 3G and in settings there is a option to allow 2G for apps to stay connected. Helpful for rural mapping. The android system is seamless as well. So, in closing, I do think this is a VERY good phone for anyone looking to buy unlocked and is not brand loyal to other makers. Motorola is a solid maker. Hello Moto. Remember that?Update: January 8, 2022I have been using the phone extensively since I purchased it and can not be happier. It is a good as the day I bought it. Battery life is still stable and shows no depletion of charge from purchase. With the case I bought, it has protected it. I have dropped it more than one time on tile floor and no damage has resulted. It has gotten moist from rain. Nothing happened. 5G is still rolling out and choices that are not exploitive in price are limited. Enter this phone. Reasonable price, unlocked and simply works well.

Love the phone so far but I had one heck of a time getting messaging to work. After going to the Verizon store and talking to two different tech support people we got it to work. Verizon put a 5g sim card in it and reset the network settings. Then what made the messeging work was tech support took my number off the plan and put it back on. Hopefully this helps someone.

I accidentally destroyed my Samsung Galaxy S10+ with the help of 30 feet of salt water on vacation. I replaced it with a cheap Nokia 2.4 and was initially pleased by the lack of bloatware going with an unlocked phone. But, it was useless – unable to handle a call if any other app was running in the background. So with a Prime Day deal, I bought this phone and it’s the best I’ve ever had. It came with clean Android 10 and no bloatware. It runs everything fluidly. The fingerprint sensor is quick and more reliable than the in-screen one on the Samsung. Battery is very good, with plenty of widgets and Teams running it looks like I can survive forgetting to plug it in for a night. Using on ATT in Central Missouri.

Okay folks here is another alternative to paying upwards of a $1000 or more for an alleged high end phone, this phone delivers on all fronts for a fraction of the cost. Priced @ $399 you get a long lasting battery, a triple rear camera system featuring a 48mp wide angle sensor, 6GB of Ram, 128Gb internal storage, sleek, beautiful styling and a whole bunch more features that gives it the look and feel of your more expensive trendy phones. Setup with an Android or Google Back up is quick and easy so what are you waiting for? I’ve owned and/or reviewed upwards of 14 Motorola phones up to the current versions for 2021 and these products stack up well against their competition.
