Update: Now that I’ve found a better way to use the nail clippers, I’m very pleased with them! What I’ve found works is using the smaller opening side of the clippers and sliding the bottom edge under the edge of my son’s nail, then clipping while sliding along his nail to the other side. Allows you to get a close cut so they can’t scratch themselves with their nails, still without the worry of cutting skin. Tried doing the same with the cheap nail clippers we bought and it didn’t work or feel safe, so these have my recommendation now for sure. They’ve been working so great in fact since I figured this out that I haven’t touched the nail file. The file was still definitely great for the beginning though when his nails were still extremely thin and soft as I don’t think the clippers would have worked at that point even if I were using them how I am now, so I’d still recommend the set for a newborn.Original review: While you definitely don’t have to worry about cutting skin with these, they’re almost so safe they’re useless. Our son manages to scratch his face with his nails even though they’re not long enough to cut with these clippers.The nail file on the other hand has been working great. The contoured design works much better than the other baby nail files we had and the grit seems higher, but still doesn’t hurt him.

This is a must have for your baby registry. It is so much better then those tiny embory boards that you can barely hold. The s shape makes the file easy to hold and maneuver. I have not used the nail clippers yet as my daughter is a newborn but will update as soon as I do.Please look at the photo I provided. Previous reviewers complained about the sand paper peeling off or not being glued properly. If you look at the picture the company saw and listened to your reviews and seems to have changed their design just a little. It seems that it is no longer a paper but rather the embory is adhered directly to board.I highly recommend this product along with this company’s line of products. This is one of the many things I have bought from the Fridababy line and they have not disappointed.

I love these clippers!!!!! Fridababy has done it again with this awesome product! I was able to quickly clip my 11 MO’s nails without tears (from either of us). The spy hole helps so much better than magnifying glasses on other clippers. I used it in sunlight and I was able to see his little nails through the hole perfectly. Another great feature is that there isn’t a “clip” noise!

These clippers are life savers! The little window is genius. The clippers also have two blunt metal strips that you push the pad of the baby’s finger against to help expose more fingernail. If you cut the nail short enough, the nail will not remain super sharp. I do a straight across cut and then cut the tiny corner pieces it creates. The first many times I used these, I started out by filing the corner pieces, but started cutting them instead as I became more proficient.As with any product that is sharp and dangerous if used improperly, caution should always be taken while using it and when baby is super wiggly, it is never a good idea to cut nails, no matter the type or brand of clipper being used. I used this product with both of my babies and love it!!

so after traumatizing my now 3 year old at about the age of 1, it took us a year to get him to let me clip his nails when he was awake… you can guess how he was traumatized.Well, I now have a small infant and practically had the same thing happen when my son bumped into me as I was taking care of his sister… so i said, ENOUGH! I must try something different.All I can say, don’t waste your time with anything else. These are absolutely amazing and I would make them as a MUST have on your baby list.JUST. BUY. THEM. ALREADY!

The window feature is phenomenal, but what makes the biggest difference for me is the shear-like clipping surface. Adult clippers sort of “pop” together to snip the entire width of the nail in one go, where these gradually close (think scissor blades) and just take a little at a time, working across the nail. Very gentle and safe. My newborn only objects to me immobilizing their hands to clip nails; I swear they don’t event feel the actual clip.

Like most first-time parents, clipping my LO’s nails can be nerve racking, but after a few careful tries, I have to say the window really helps a lot! What I do is look in the window and position my LO’s nail (palm face down) into the clipper section. I then position the nail onto the bottom clipper so that the finger is flushed against the outside bottom part and only the nail is within the clipper part. That way I know I won’t cut any flesh. It also helps when my LO is not moving so I tend to do this when he’s asleep. The filer is a good final touch in making the cut smoother.

This is the only nail Clipper any Mom should buy and/or a must to gift to the Moms of babies/toddlers in your life. The size makes them easy to hold and use and they operate more like scissors instead of clippers. Where clippers have a harsh, distinct CLIP that would bother or frighten my toddler, these nail clippers cut more like scissors. I don’t worry about cutting my sons skin either with these and I can quickly and easily get multiple passes in on each finger with these while he barely notices. A must for all Moms- especially those like me who are very bothered by long nails or dirty nails on little kids.

These work so well we bought another when our first one came up missing! I am able to see exactly where I am cutting so I don’t go too deep in the nail bed. They are sharp and easy to use for my toddler’s nails. We actually found the missing one, but I couldn’t go more than a few weeks without a pair of these. Oh well now we have 2! They are affordable and work exactly how you expect once you get the hang of looking through the little hole and using a curving motion to cut the nail all in one snip. These are life savers especially when we first used them on our son as a newborn and we were terrified of cutting his nails. 2 years later it’s a breeze and we are still using these

Just buy it! Ok, I have 4 kids. Why I haven’t heard of this before is insane but your need these! They are shaped like a nail clipper but you can actually see what you are clipping and they cut like scissors! So you don’t end up with super sharp nails! I am left handed and can use them with no issue. Much easier to shape the nail and not cut too far. Plus the little filer is nice too. Don’t get scared away by the size (they look huge when toy open the box). They fit great in your hand and are easy to use.
