I’ve had this for a few months now and love it. You’ll never use those plastic crappy, fall off the vent mount ones ever again. Also, don’t limit yourself to just your phone, if you have a car stereo remote, home tv remote or just want to mount it in your house by your charging station. Open the opportunities of the use of or where you put this device. The magnet is strong enough I mounted it vertically in my vehicle since it had a smooth surface to adhere to, with zero issues. I put the phone mount toward the bottom and it stands vertically over hundreds of miles without issue. I will be mounting one upside down on my overhead council for my stereo remote. The best thing right off is you can move your phone at will to get it out of the sun glare or in different angles to view things and it will stay in that position. Guaranteed you can’t do that consistently with the plastic vent mounts…this I know.

It fits in the Spigen rugged armour case perfectly. Just high enough to elevate it above the camera hump from the case. I was so worried the plus size steelie wouldn’t fit in this case, my old 7 plus phone had trouble with the original steelie with not having enough holding power. This is the Spigen Rugged Armour case with the IPhone 12 Pro Max

I haven’t written an Amazon review in such a long time, but I had to share my experience. I’ve had the Steelie mounted on my dash for a several years now. I had to order another magnet because my cell phone case with the first magnet fell apart. The Steelie magnet is very strong! I know this because it literally saved my cell phone! I love you, Steelie. Here’s what happened.Yesterday, I was walking to my car after work. I was carrying two large tote bags, my big Yeti cup, and my phone. Well, my battery in my key fob had died long ago so I’ve been having to unlock my car door manually. Yes, yes, I know. Why not replace the battery? I will! I will! Any who, when I finally made it to my car I put my cup and phone on the roof of my car and my bags on the ground so I could unlock my car door. After unlocking my car door I out all my belongings in my car and took off. It wasn’t until I was getting on the interstate did I question the whereabouts of my phone. Thirty miles later, I arrive at home and get out of my car. What do I see stuck to the roof of my car? Yep! My cell phone. It made it all that way! Yes, the Steelie held my phone securely through several abrupt stops, sharp turns, bumpy roads, going 70-80 mph most of the way. Thank you, Steelie! You are my hero.

After my 3rd iOttie failed (all had the clamping mechanism crack/break) – we needed to find something else that would work with both iPhone and work better with my Samsung which needed to also use a patch cable to get music into the older vehicle’s music input jack. Since this mount does not have any lower support brackets/arms – nothing pushes on the jack when used. Despite not having a lower phone support bracket, both our Apple and Samsung plus size screen phones are secure and have not fallen/poped out of the mount even once.I also had concerns with it using the A/C vent to mount into the vehicle, but it works fine in a Mini Cooper, and several GMC trucks we use regularly. Since the design places your phone directly in front of the A/C vent – Those hot Texas days where the phone is exposed in the sun are no longer an issue since the vehicle A/C will blow against the phone while your driving around. We liked this mount so much we now have it in all our vehicles. This mount does have a ratcheting & release system (there is a release lever on the back) – I am hopeful it is a better design than the iOttie and will last. I’ll try to amend this review if they fail in the near future.

I have recently started playing No Man’s Sky after a long time away from the game, and though the game is beautiful in VR and I have a very nice VR rig, I rarely play in VR because the flight controls are a nightmare. I happened upon a random YouTube video where someone recommended this product as a way to anchor your VR controller to your arm rest so you can better simulate the flight stick of your spacecraft in game. I personally found the sticky pads included to be a bit too weak for my purpose, and I wound up using a dab of glue to permanently afix the mount in place. After only a short time using this improvised flight stick, I can attest that it dramatically improves the experience of VR flight in No Man’s Sky.The magnet, though round, is very strong, and I believe that this would make a very good mount for most users phones. In a car, where there tends to be vibration, the phone may shift positions a bit while driving, but I doubt it would fall off completely. I am thinking of getting one of these for my daughter’s phone, as she has already expressed that she likes it too and wants one for her room.

This is by far the best phone mount out there.I have driven through pot holes ,made sharp turns.sudden stops & quick acceleration which had no effect on the phone .Stop looking this is the ultimate phone mount. This is installed in rental car I didn’t want to leave Any marks on the dash so I purchased a inexpensive cd mount on Amazon for 11$ i then installed the STEELIE 360 MAGNETIC MOUNT on the modified cd mount as you can see in the pictures no PROBLEMS.I is easily removable and reinstalled in another car.

UPDATE- Just circling back around to this- I LOVE this product. It has worked out so well for me. I bought it around the time that I started to participate in Progressive Insurances Snapshot program (feels like years ago) and I can’t move my phone when I drive or I’m penalized.. This became a problem when trying to use the GPS. This phone holder has been a lifesaver. I never expected it to last this long. The magnet is so strong, and the part attached to my phone is still holding, no signs of coming off. Really a great product!!I researched phone holders heavily before purchasing this and I am so glad that I chose this one. It’s been about 3 months and I haven’t had any problems with it at all. It holds my phone great, attached to the windshield without a problem and has never come off or even moved from the location I placed it in. It was very easy to put the sticker with magnet on my phone case and that has also not moved.

I never post reviews, but I am very happy with this product! I bought 2 of these to mount my iPad mini in the car. I opted to go this route because I really like having navigation, prefer to listen to mp3 via bluetooth in my car (as opposed to radio), and the quoted price for navigation installed aftermarket was $1600! I already had an iPad and thought the navigation was pretty solid, so I decided to pursue a mount that was clean, and didn’t overwhelm my dashboard. I did a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. I also bought an iOttie (which I thought held my iPad pretty well, but because of the way my dash is set up, blocked a lot of my controls, so I returned it). The Steelies are PERFECT! They were super easy to install, my iPad is stuck to those like superglue, and when I am not using it, the Steelie mounts aren’t that noticeable. I was really nervous about my iPad falling off with every bump I hit, but that is not the case. The reason I bought 2 mounts was because I didn’t want my iPad to block the heat vents and the way my dash is configured, 2 mounts made the most sense. I believe one mount would be sufficient for the mini iPad, but would go for 2 mounts if you intend to mount a regular iPad on your dash. I have to admit, I wasn’t thrilled with sticking stuff to the mini or the car dash, but after the initial shock of having to do that, it doesn’t matter to me. I usually keep my iPad in a case when not mounted and the “magnets” are covered by the case. The best parts? Siri is voice activated and can talk all my commands without me taking my hands off the wheel, and I since I live in the ghetto, I don’t worry about my fancy nav system getting stolen! I just grab and go!

This is awesome!! I received the orbiter version. The mount and magnet both had 3M tape – supposedly knock offs don’t have this, if you’re wondering if I got a knock off.I’ve wanted a system to mount my phone up in my car that did not go in my vent. This is perfect. Adheres to my vertical panel of my center console with strength. The magnet is hella strong to hold my iPhone 12 Pro. I will see how long the adhesion holds in this humid warm weather of Hawaii.

“Dash Mount orbitor”Hands down the best phone mount I have ever found. I move cars for a living and I would see these balls attached to the dash and wonder what they were. So I did a bit of research and found out what they were. I then bought a new Semi, and it also had one on the dash. I tried to take it off the dash and couldn’t get it to budge, so I took apart the dash to see if it was screwed into the dash and it wasn’t. I was like hrmm, what sorta magic is this. Anyway all the pieces were there except the Steelie plate, so for $5 I picked one up to test on my Google Pixel 3XL. If you know Google devices, the fingerprint reader is on the back. So you can’t place the plate directly in the center, plus I have an otter box defender case which is a hard case with a rubber surround so I was a bit worried about the plate being able to hold up well.If you read and follow the directions, I don’t see how anyone could ever claim there is a problem with either placing it on the dash of their car, or the plate on their phone. As I said before, they use magic to make it work.I have a very strong feeling, those that did not get theirs to properly stick to their dash or phone, also don’t know how to follow directions. It clearly states you must clean the surface with the alcohol wipes they provide, and once you place it, it must be kept at a certain temperature range for 24 hours for proper adhesion. It sticks just fine to my rubber other box case, and I bought this one to place in my wife’s 2018 Dodge Durango GT which has a soft dash, and it works perfectly fine. Follow the directions, and it too can work it’s magic for you.Even though my plate is attached to the lower half of the back of my phone, it stays on the orbitor just fine in my Semi truck and wife’s Durango.I highly recommend buying this for your car. I will be installing one in every vehicle we have in our home so no matter whps driving, they always have a safe place to put their phones.Less distraction for drivers.
