I researched compact units extensively, including some much more expensive units, before deciding on this Philips. I am happy with my decision. The sound is good for a unit this size. The speakers are OK, but I hooked it up to my Yamaha NS500 speakers, and it sounds very good. Bluetooth operation is simple and flawless. Interfaced it using a 3.5mm jack cable, which also works well. The only aux input is via 3.5mm jack, so be prepared. Operation with the remote is very easy and convenient. Excellent choice for a bookshelf system.

I like the stereo system, the sound quality Is very good “for playing cd’s”, what people don’t tell you in the reviews Is that when using bluetooth, the music sounds a little lower, so you have to turn up the volume more.

I am very impressed with this shelf stereo. The sound is incredible. The bass is rich and booming . the mid and high ranges are crisp and clear. The unit itself surprised me with the speaker boxes being made out of wood and not plastic like other mini stereos that I have owned. Most of the receiver is housed in metal not plastic. The FM reception is great and I live out in the country 25 miles from the nearest radio station. I am so glad that I chose this stereo from the ones that I was considering. Great product Phillips!

I just set this stereo up and it too only a few minutes. Did not need to look at the instructions. The sound on FM was good but even better on a CD. Easy to use and use of settings. I do not have any of the problems that I saw in some of the reviews. If you want a bigger sound for a large hall or auditorium spend the money. For the price I don’t think you will find anything better .GWAAddendum: I have it for a week now and I am still very happy with the sound, Nice lows and brilliant highs. Good reception for FM.

This is an excellent stereo system with many additional features to enhance its value.Firstly, it was extremely easy to set up – the only exception being the insertion of the four speaker wires into the main unit. However, this fiddly task need only be undertaken once! The CD Player is simple to operate and has a smooth tray movement when inserting or removing CD’s. The Bluetooth pairing is again simple to set up and it works well with apps such as Amazon Music. Other audio devices can also be connected via the Audio Input facility. In this regard, we successfully set up our home satellite radio through this audio channel.FM radio also operates well for all nearby local stations.It comes with a remote which covers most functions including a sound selector acting as a mini graphic equalizer.The overall sound quality is very acceptable at both high, medium, and low frequencies. Should you want a bass output to shake the walls, this unit is not for you but, for a medium to large room, it sounds great.The only criticism is the lack of a more comprehensive user manual. It does come with a quick start guide but this does not cover some of the more useful information. However, this omission was not sufficient to prevent my selection of a five-star rating for this excellent unit.

I like the Phillips cd stereo player system because of the great quality sound. Overall it does a great job playing a cd. I like it too because it is compact and fits very well on the shelf I have it on. It is easy to operate and that goes a long way with me. Also, I like it because it only holds one cd a time. Also, the features of setting to play all songs over or set it to repeat the same song is good to have. This system meets my needs and I recommend it highly. I have only had it less than a week but it is great.

I spent a considerable amount of time comparison shopping for micro stereos, and I am extremely happy with this stereo. The stereo has excellent sound clarity, and the 9.5 inch speakers have a solid bass. The sound level of the CD and Bluetooth are are equal to the radio, unlike a lot of systems where there is a volume dropoff. The system also has a digital clock and a sleep timer. This micro stereo has all that a person needs. Do not hesitate to purchase this product of quality of sound is important to you.
