first, let me caveat that I’m not a home theater aficionado and I’m also not one of those people who don’t care about how their tv sounds. I think that’s why this system is perfect for so many people. I have a feeling there are a lot of people like me who don’t want to spend thousands of dollars on a full Dolby Atmos audio system but still want that immersive experience when watching movies and tv – and want to be able to do it themselves. enter this Platin Monaco 5.1. install could not have been simpler. since no speaker wires are involved, it’s all about having access to an electrical outlet for each speaker. after all the speakers are placed and plugged in all you have to do is plug the HDMI cable from your arc/earc connection to the Wisa soundsend module. that’s it. easy peavy. download the app for more fine control. the sound is amazing. even the small subwoofer gives you everything you need and it fits inside of my credenza too! I could not recommend this more! only knock is that there are no grills. don’t get me wrong. the speakers are beautifully designed but I would prefer to have at least a little bit of protection. I’ve contacted Platin and they are looking into it.

The sound is great for the money even though it does not support DTS (which the product clearly states) nor does it upscale 2-channel to 5.1 (which they do not state). The only problem is that the sound cuts in and out for a second every now and then during a movie. I think it is an issue with the SoundSend unit. I have an LG OLED77CXPUA set it to bitrate, HDMI out, Dolby Atmos, and eArch in advanced settings. Also rebooted the SoundSend unit. Sound though still cuts in and out on occasion during a movie which is very annoying. I read another reviewer had this issue and that the company sent a new Soundsend unit which fixed the problem. Wish they would contact me too for this and try to fix the issue – possibly with a new unit. Other than that, it really is an awesome piece of tech and I wish success to this company!Update April 2, 2021:I played with TV settings at the suggestion of WiSA Product Manager Jeff Noah that mentioned sometimes the right settings may actually not work. I have an LG TV model year 2020 (LG OLED77CXPUA) and after making the change for #3 below the system worked perfectly with AMAZING sound. The problem is that this is new technology and TV manufacturers are not yet including detailed instructions in their manuals regarding proper settings for WISA SoundSend tech—also it would be nice if WISA could start compiling instructions/settings for TV models, which is a labor intensive task. So, my 4 star rating is being changed to 5. Hope this helps other customers. Enjoy! Also note: this is a real in-the-box surround system because you do not need an AV receiver which although has more options/is more versatile costs a lot of extra money — and you need to wire the speakers to the receiver unlike this Wisa SoundSend.LG OLED TV settings are:1) TV WiFi can be on 2.4 or 5 GHZ there is no interference with the speakers (which use 5 GHZ).2) Sound out: set to HDMI ARC (the only setting option that allows the use of HDMI connection)3) All settings → Sound → Additional settings→ Digital Sound Out: three options “auto” “PCM” and “Pass Through”. I had it at “auto” then changed it to “Pass Through” and that fixed the problem!4) All settings → Sound → Additional settings→ eARC: turned on (must be set to on to use eARC)

Love this sound system. Supports Dolby Atmos perfectly. The best part is the quality of the material. Completely solid and built to perfection. The only downside to this product is the lack of base. Tried going through the steps to configure the subwoofer but it still lacks that thump that I always look for. I placed and order for a Klipsch subwoofer that also supports WISA tech. That is the overall best part of this configuration. It supports all WISA certified items. I have the soundsend which supports Atmos…FYI the Axiim does not. The Soundsend puck will support up to 9 channels. This will allow for more additions from other WISA supported items. Currently researching more Klipsch items to add on for the final configuration. Honestly, the possibility are endless. Great product. Highly recommend.

I was the lucky one to receive a bad speaker in the box. They were very responsive and sent a new one out right away. They wanted the bad one back to try and determine why it failed and they were not only very apologetic and responsive, they were also very kind, communicative and extremely helpful. I feel this is a quality company and would absolutely do business with them again. This system allows you to plug the speakers into the wall, set it up on the app, plug the main device into your TV and viola! You have very good quality surround sound; my system is the 5.1and expandable. If you are a total audiophile, critique everything to the nth degree and will not be satisfied with something that isn’t perfect and infinitely adjustable, then maybe look further but if you enjoy very good quality sound, are happy with setting it up and then just enjoying it and especially if running the wires for your surround speakers presents a challenge, this may be the system for you. It was for me. I love the overall sound, it is plenty adjustable for tuning the speaker outputs, you can tweak each channel, enhance voices and base and it will handle all the different Dolby sound ratings. One more thing to note, not only is the sound strong and clear but I have had no problem with any of the speakers picking up interference or static or cutting out. I would absolutely buy this again.

I really am enjoying this system. I think its much better than a soundbar since all the speakers are seperate and the sound is more spacious. Id definitely recommend it to anyone looking to get surround sound without wires and breaking the bank.

Loved the wire free setup for good surround sound even with non wisa Samsung blu Ray . I bought it with wisa transmitter for latest Dolby features (bit more flexible and tunable than the axim link). Have detailed control of settings, individual speakers and latency through the soundsend mobile app. I am running hdmi from older non wisa Samsung blu ray player to epson projector. Using optical cable to Soundsend, I am able to broadcast hires audio to wisa speakers. Whiz bang audio with older player and projector for competitive price. Like!

Wow what a purchase! I bought this for my hubby for Christmas because he is super particular about his sound . We have a very complicated set up in our house and I can never figure it out. Well this one was so amazingly easy! Seriously you just plug it in and it works like magic. I set it up for him in 15 minutes…Especially these times when we are all stuck at home watching movies it’s like we are in a theater. I really love it!! It is now on my list to buy for my family. The perfect gift.

Easy to install and the speakers take up much less space than older speakers. I was a bit worried about EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) because I have had occasional problems with my garage door opener and Bluetooth devices. When that happens, I’ve found that if you turn on an AM radio there’s a loud buzzing between stations. Just a note for those who have complained about dropouts and/or connection problems. I have had no such problems with these WiSA speakers.

I use these wireless speakers with a Samsung smart TV in a medium-sized room. Mostly for music – Pandora, You Tube Music, previous Amazon music purchases, movies. The sound at times is nearly breath-taking. From the moment you start unpacking the heavy box in which the speakers are shipped, you can see and feel the quality. You connect the controller to your TV with the provided HDMI cable or, if you wish, your own optical cable. The controller is supposed to “find” all of the speakers and, in effect, set the entire system up. For some reason in the case of my unit, it did not work. An online request to Platin yielded a quick response, and a super nice, knowledgeable technical guy helped work through the issue. He also assisted with getting the smart phone app to sync with the system. This is a relatively new company that wants to be the gold standard of wireless connectivity. But there is almost no documentation with the unit, no “frequently asked questions,” no troubleshooting techniques, no You Tube videos from the company to help puzzled customers. So, it’s still a bit quirky. But if things don’t connect, the tried and true process of rebooting everything, included the TV and shutting down the app, has worked for me.So, in sum, the company has some work to do to make the system more customer friendly, BUT the astounding quality and sound for a complete $800-900 wireless surround system are extraordinary. Buy it at that price early-on if you can – it’s worth a lot more and the price can easily go up in the competitive market.

I don’t do a lot of reviews, but I had to make an exception here. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the sound. For a small living room it is great. Setup was as easy as advertised and the auto play means even my wife loves it. We are down to just one remote controlling everything.
