I initially bought AOC I1601FWUX 15.6″ USB-C portable monitor as I had seen a friend use it. I wanted to use it as a primary monitor with a spare PC. My connectivity solution was an HDMI to USB type C adapter. It failed as there was no way to power the monitor and send signals at the same time using that single port.Lepow 15.6″ Portable monitor was a slam dunk to this problem. ย I have been searching well over a month for a portable monitor and decided to go with this one based on the reviews and price. I have to say, for my first dive into this market, I am pleased with my purchase. Although Lepow is not a well known manufacturer, in America at least, it appears to deliver in its specifications.Pros:1. Lightweight2. Satisfying picture quality3. In-the-box accessories included, along with slim cover.4. The price is unbeatable.5. Works with all of my devices (Xbox One, Xbox 360, Tab S4, Mate 10, Note 9, Dell XPS 15).Cons:1. Speakers could be louder.2. Not true HDR; Settings for HDR are washed out, not sure what the setting “auto” does in HDR mode.3. Not sure why sometimes the menu settings are greyed out and therefore not selectable. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn’t. (This may be an oversight on my part but If I want to raise the backlight setting, why am I not able to select it at times?)Overall, I would recommend this device for anyone who wants to dip their feet in the portable monitor pool but does not want to spend over $200.I would also suggest buying a mini hdmi to hdmi adaptor to make it a bit easier on you when switching from multiple game consoles.UPDATE: If you set the HDR mode to auto you won’t be able to control the brightness, black levels, and sharpness, it will be greyed out. I have moved my review to 5 stars after I figured that out and the fact that LEPOW actually sent me an email for troubleshooting the monitor.

This monitor worked as a โPlug and playโ device for my HP ELITEBOOK laptop that runs Windows 10. I had to use two of the cords in order to get it working (one for display output and one for power). The mini HDMI cord has a standard HDMI plug on the other end so I had no issues with it being โplug and playโ and I did not need to install drivers. For powering the monitor I used the thunderbolt cord. The third cord also worked to provide power and it is a usb-c with usb-a on the other end. Other than it being a bit expensive and requiring two cords at once I think itโs perfect because it works with no drivers needed which is what was most important for me.

I connected to my iPad Pro 11″. I recently updated to the iOS 13 and connected the iPad to this Portable Monitor and it worked GREAT!!! I tested both USBC and HDMI mini and they both worked.

I was worried because I got this at such a great price. The worrying was for nothing. The monitor is perfect for what I need. It is plug and play, I did not have to install any drivers. The magnetic cover/stand works perfect. The screen is clear and the colors are crisp. It is light weight and very easy to connect with the cables that were included

ย So for me like everyone else looking on here for a portable monitor, well all looked at our iPad and wished we could just plug our game system into it and use it as a monitor, RIGHT?Well thatโs how I felt at least. I see this monitor as the type of device that benefits gamers the most. Iโm all for that! In todayโs world we are always on the go. Long travel times can be daunting at timeโ sure you can Netflix or Hulu it up on you iPad or phone. But mobile games for the most part suck. Being able to run this super thin monitor off a batter pack gives you a more immersive feeling than the phone watching your favorite show or movie, and allows you to game mainstream games ANYWHERE. This monitor has it all USB C port for power supply, USB C port for video and sound input, even HDMI port for your Xbox or PS4.Earlier reviews about this monitor have been heard by the company that makes them. Because now the instructions are in English, they provide a wall power adapter with a USB A to USB C power cord, they also provide a USB C to USB C cord and HDMI to mini HDMI cord, screen protector and lastly the monitor is wrapped in a multi angle smart case.What more can I say ??? Yes its worth it!

I’m an instructional designer and 3D jewelry artist, and I literally dreamed of having a second monitor for traveling. I had originally purchased my top-of-the-line MacBook Pro to make instructional ZBrush CAD videos, but the fan runs constantly and it’s picked up on any external microphone. My idea to place my MacBook off the table and record from an external monitor seemed to be the right solution. I also found that the Retina display on the Mac causes Camtasia to record video at a much higher resolution that has to be downsampled, making the software interface blurry. I needed to record at a native 1920×1080 resolution.Unboxing was very “Apple-y.” If you’ve ever bought an Apple product, the heavyweight box, the packaging reinforces that you’ve just bought something special. They include a nice instruction book that’s got lots of pictures…sometimes when you buy something from a manufacturer in the Far East, the instructions are not well-written. Lepow’s instruction manual feels familiar and is nicely done…it’s very clear.Anyway, this portable monitor does the trick. I bought it on a whim for Black Friday because the price was in my budget, but even at full price it’s a nice monitor. If I’d seen it before buying, I would have paid full price, but taking a chance on a new product and company I’m not familiar with, the price was worth taking a chance on. I also see that Amazon may have a coupon…look for that as well.I also LOVE that it’s powered by the USB-C port on my MacBook Pro and doesn’t require a power cord to run from the USB-C port, although I finally read the instructions, and they suggest plugging it in…if you don’t, the monitor comes up not at full brightness, but at least on a MBP with USB-C, it does work. The folding cover makes it feel like I’m carrying a large iPad, and it seems to protect it well. The only thing that I’d like to see changed is the “roll” button for changing the settings. I cannot figure out how to jump from the main menu to the individual setting items…I’ve tried, but still trying to figure it out…there’s got to be a trick that I’m missing. There is a left column of main settings, and it says to press the roll key to activate the menu, scroll the roll key up and down to choose a setting, then press the roll key to confirm. There needs to be a little more information about this in the little book, about how to change columns.I was WAY overcomplicating the stand, too. I was trying to fold it like an iPad…and I was overthinking it. It’s attached magnetically to the back of the monitor, folded in an “L” configuration (kind of like a Lexus logo…), then the monitor sets in one of two grooves for two different viewing positions.Also, be aware that the two USB-C ports are not the same. One is a full-functioning USB-C port (on the left), and the one on the right is for power only. When I connect my MacBook Pro to the left USB-C port only, and the MBP is plugged in, it works just fine without external power. That is my experience with the MBP, so I don’t know if that applies to a PC notebook. It comes with all of the cords that you’ll need to connect, including a USB-C cable, HDMI cable, and a power source cable. If you were on your way to a hotel or conference and decided to have this delivered, you won’t be searching around for a Best Buy at closing time to find cables.Overall, I’m extremely happy with this monitor…it’s already making my life easier! I’d say if you’re on the fence, give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed. It’s got a generous viewing area and the portability is perfect.

I’m coming from having an Asus USB3.0 monitor (MB169B+) to this one. I saw the reviews were great on this, and that it had a few other features I liked: 1) It was cheaper than the Asus 2) It doesn’t require drivers so it can be plugged into anything 3) It comes with all of the cables you need to plug it into pretty much anything you would want. I sold my Asus monitor to a friend of mine to buy this one, and it was definitely the right choice! The display is ever so slightly thicker than the Asus, but the video quality is amazing and has a lot more functionality packed into it. Definitely recommend!Update:I travel a lot for work and ended up getting a bunch of my coworkers to buy this monitor too. With some Command Picture Hanging Strips and proper aligning, we could stick these monitors to the back of a plane seat, hook up a Nintendo Switch via USB C for video and a 30W PD power bank for power and play the Switch for the whole flight! With my 27000mAH power bank, it was able to power both the monitor AND charge the switch for roughly 7 hours. I can’t stop finding more uses for this amazing thing!

I wanted to start and say it beat my expectations.. I was skeptical of buying this one since I’m not familiar with the brand.. was looking at the Asus but those are 100$ more for seem like same specs.. When the first one came in I loved it right away.. the build quality is really good. I don’t use it for any photography or video editing so not sure how true the colors are.. but I use it just for a second monitor for more production for day trading stocks and I love it.. I used to use a iPad.. but it was using more ram and kept freezing up and couldn’t afford that.. So I purchased one and when I received it I ordered the second one.. ps the second one was by mistake.. was planning to return it but changed my mind and decided to keep it lol. So far I don’t see any negative about it but only been using it for few days.. will update if anything changes.
