A great little USB hub. I love the fact that it has buttons with blue light indicators to turn individual ports on and off. I was hoping to get the one with the power adapter hole and I did get that model! (Model HB-UMLS) BUT…The packaging and info included did not include any information of what kind of power adapter I’d need. The hole for it measures at 5mm but I’ll have to look up what exact voltage and amperage I need.In one of my pictures (attached) I show it powering a Razor Blackwidow Ultimate 2013 keyboard and a Logitech G35 surround headset (and a scanner and a second laser mouse – which don’t use that much power anyway; mostly data).Plugged my phone in with both of those going and it wouldn’t even register as a data device. I disabled the other two ports with those devices in them and my phone came on as a data device and started charging. I guess it can only power one device that needs that much power. It can power more if I get the right adapter.

Because of my home office / studio setup, I needed USB ports in two locations. I purchased Sabrent’s 3.0 USB hub for my recording gear, webcam and game pads; and their 2.0 USB hub for my bluetooth mouse / keyboard dongle and printer. The 2.0 and 3.0 hubs transfer data exceptionally well – no connectivity issues, lag, or playback issues whatsoever. Having an on/off switch per USB port is incredibly convenient due to the number of instruments and mics I use for recording. Both hubs are the same size – they’re slim / compact and easy to keep out of sight. The Sabrent 2.0 and 3.0 hubs together cost me $17 and transfer data for 8 devices simultaneously without a hitch. Having two separate USB hubs allows me to keep all devices connected to my PC and in their proper place.I couldn’t be happier with these hubs, and highly recommend them!

Bought the one in the photo December 2018. It’s now July 2020 and I need to purchase a new one. I believe there may have been a power surge that caused two of my computer items to die. One was my laptop charging battery and the other was this USB port extender. I was surprised with how long and how well this USB port extender worked. I’ve used others that did not connect to my computer or gadgets. this works, buy it! I’m upgrading to the 10 port extender because I like it so much and because my computer is about 3 years old and only 2 of 3 of the USB ports on it are working.I can’t speak for the 10 port yet, but if you are considering the 4 port USB extender, BUY IT 🙂 I’ve used this for my mouse/keyboard, printer, scanner, to charge my phone and watch, and to open flash drives.

I was amazed at the quality of this unit, (and I’m a gadget freak). It has solid USB connections. Nothing loose and cheesy about it. I attached it to the face of my tower PC with mounting tape. Looks and functions very solid. I’m an amateur photographer and am constantly disconnecting one-to use it for something else. Having this has saved me a great deal of frustration. I can even leave the cables plugged into the hub and just power off the L.E.D. power switches, so now I don’t need to hunt for cables. I’m using it full time now for a month and have had no problems whatsoever. I’m VERY glad I got over some of the “if’y” reviews and bought this.

I’ve had this unit for 9 months now, so my review is for normal use daily with minimal on and off cycles with the buttons, but used every one in a while. When needing a lot more ports, mainly some I could turn on and off, I picked this one up along with it’s USB3 cousin. Both units worked great and had no issues. The other reviews are right and charging from this is not ideal without the charging power cord, but it’s not meant as a charger without that and USB 2.0 is generally limited in it’s power output by it’s standard, that being 500ma at 5v. With the power adapter, all 4 can pull 500ma without issue. After testing that, this particular hub was set to running my Keyboard, Mouse, and adapter for a controller. Works exactly as I’d expect it to.Now as a note, a big reason for the 5 stars is the Sabrent customer service. I had one of the buttons go out, it just wouldn’t stay activated anymore. This one was a rarely used button for the controller, but it did eventually fail. After reaching out, they had a new one in my hands in 2 days. They checked in, kept in touch throughout, checked in again after it was marked received to make sure it worked. Absolutely stellar as far as customer service goes. As far as the unit goes, it would be a 4 star unit, because of the failure and because it’s clearly built to the $ with plastics being the most prominent thing.

I’ve bought two of these now to fix the same issue that a lot of people experience these days when building a PC – lack of the older USB 2.0 ports on the case itself. For my personal pc I bought an internal NZXT usb hub so it’s out of sight and mind for a cleaner look for my wireless keyboard/mouse but i like using this for others that I build computers for as they don’t want to have to open the case and would have no idea how to even unattach something from a board. This little device is perfect for slapping a piece of velcro on the back and just plugging it into one of the USB 3.0+ ports available on the back of your PC thus changing it into a 2.0 and allowing you to plug in those little wireless adapaters for your keyboard, mouse etc. So if you’re frustrated from your wireless keyboard/mouse seemingly not working correctly, do yourself a favor and pick up one of these (it HAS to be the USB 2.0…they do make an identical looking 3.0) some velcro tape and just slap this puppy on the back of your pc out of sight and problem SOLVED. Cheap and effective solution! When’s the last time anyone could say that?

I am a huge fan of the USB Hub. It works exactly as advertised, the price is exceptional, and the LSD function that tells you which ports are currently open is a God-send. I have had it for about one month, used it extensively, and been extremely impressed (especially at the low price — the value you are getting is a significant one). Highly recommended, without any reservations!

I bought this USB hub like, 4 years ago when I had almost no money and really needed a USB hub. I had no idea that what I had bought was going to last so long and be so useful. When I first got it, I was using a USB headset for voice chats, but otherwise was using external speakers. This USB hub made switching between devices a dream. All it took was a press of a button. The buttons are nice and have two distinct height levels to indicate whether they’re on or off. They also have lights, but if you’re using multiple ports, there tends to be a little bit of bleed from one button to the other. This doesn’t really affect how it works, though. When I’d turn on the port for the headset, my PC recognized the device immediately and the drivers loaded right up. No fiddling with wires and USB superposition with a device like this. There are other hubs similar to this that also have buttons, but those aren’t nearly as cheap as this one. The best part is, it’s still going. The hub still lives after 4 years of near constant use. As of now, I’m using it to power USB lights, and they work great.

My employer recently swapped out my Windows 7-based VPN laptop, which was an HP ProBook with a newer HP EliteBook with iGel on it. The ProBook had four total USB ports, two on each side. I used three of them: one for a Yubi key, and two on the right side for a KVM hookup for mouse and keyboard. The EliteBook only has TWO USB ports, one on each side + a USB-C which is useless to me. I had no good way to use my KVM cables anymore, so I tried this hub from Sabrent. WORKS GREAT! I have a two-port KVM hooked to it, which runs my Microsoft Ergonomic Natural 4000 keyboard as well as a Logitech G502 mouse. It is a bit more desktop clutter now, but I can deal with that in favor of being able to use my original peripherals for long VPN sessions for work. The hub DOES NOT get warm, and that’s after two hours of use. The light glow for each port is very unobtrusive and doesn’t bother me.Only thing which I do a bit different is I often times will put the laptop into Sleep mode (it has a write-protected drive for security purposes) so my wifi and display settings don’t get erased. The USB hub stays powered, so to prevent it from draining the laptop battery in sleep mode I just press the two buttons to turn off those ports and I’ve had no issues so far with coming back to a dead battery.

For my PS4 I use an 4TB eternal hard drive to increase my system storage. But because I have a PS4 Slim, I only have 2 USB ports available for use. This was a major issue for me when i upgraded to a wirless headset and the Astro PS4 gaming controller. This multi USB port was a great tool for me to be able to use my extended hard drive, my wireless Astro PS4 gaming controller, and my Stealth 700 wireless headset all at the same time. I love the fact that this multi USB port has buttons that can switch the ports on and off so I don’t have to constantly unplug when doing a maintenance check on my wireless devices. This makes the area for my PS4 much neater as well.Great investment for a low price!!
