10 reviews for Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 32 GB Wifi Tablet Black (2019) Everything Else

  1. R. TuiteR. Tuite

I bought this for school since one of my books this semester was only available as an ebook through a dedicated app that isn’t available for Kindle and wouldn’t install via Google Play. I also wanted to be able to use it for work (I do IT consulting for small businesses), as it would be nice to have a tablet for updating tickets etc.I spent 2 weeks reading reviews because I’m very picky about my tech. I want the best “bang for the buck” but rarely buy top of the line just for the sake of it.This tablet fits the bill perfectly. It’s not the best for gaming, but it’s not designed to be. I do play Ark Mobile on it and it plays decently at that. I’m sure Samsungs other models (that cost over $650) would do this better, but again.. that’s not what I needed it for.The tablet boots up quickly and is very responsive. It has the normal Google bells and whistles that you’d expect with a new tablet. With 32 Gb onboard, there is ample room for most apps and documents but you can also add a MicroSD card for more storage. The display is very nice, even nicely visible outside (see the attached picture!) with a nicely responsive touchscreen (my biggest gripe on cheap tablets). The performance is well on par with my friend’s iPad Mini 4 despite the Mini being equipped with a better processor. The battery life is very nice as well. I left this at a client site over a weekend, and it was still at 35% battery when I picked it up on Monday. It was maybe only 50% when I left it. I use it fairly regularly throughout the week and only have to charge it 3 times.Pros:- Nice display with great color and resolution- Very responsive touchscreen- Lots of options for fitted cases (I highly recommend the Rantice rugged case)- Very nice build quality- Great battery lifeCons:- Doesn’t include DeX like Samsung’s higher-end models- No mobile data- No biometrics (facial recognition or thumbprint)Best use cases:Streaming content, web browsing, productivity, e-readerNon-recommended use cases:GamingOverall:Awesome tablet, probably the best you will find unless you want to spend $500 plus

I love it. The only thing I don’t like is there no flash on the camera but other than that it’s a great tablet .

Pros:- Wanted to go for an easy-to-use tablet for an older person, and Samsung devices make great starter androids, in my opinion. It’s simple to turn off any excess stuff that you don’t want.- Large, crisp screen.- Configuration options allow for adjustments of hearing, visibility, et cetera, for people who have trouble.- It’s also not very heavy, which is important for someone who has weakened strength.- Good battery life.- Good speaker volume.Cons:- The size makes it somewhat awkward to hold. I put cases on our devices regardless, but that slight awkwardness makes using a case a necessity I think.- The buttons for power and volume control are small. My stepfather has trouble with tiny device buttons.- Not the best sound quality.I can’t think of anything else to mention. I’m happy with this purchase!Sidenote: When choosing a case or screen protector for this device, triple check what you are purchasing. There are multiple different iterations of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1.

I was shopping around for an affordable tablet (under $300) to read comic books and watch videos on. I narrowed my choices down to the budget/entry-level iPad, Kindle Fire 10, and this tablet. The iPad’s screen (9.7 inches) isn’t ideal for full-page comic reading, and I was never a fan of the Fire HD operating system, so I paid a bit more for this Galaxy tablet which runs the latest version of Android.I’m very glad I purchased this tablet! The 10.1-inch size is perfect for full-page reading; the text within each comic panel is crystal clear, and color accuracy is incredible. The bezels around the screen are minimal, providing an immersive reading experience. I’m not gaming, so I can’t comment on performance, but running Spotify, Chrome, and my comic app simultaneously works great. My only gripe with the device thus far is that it’s a bit heavy (the Galaxy Tab S5e is lighter), however, this device costs 50% less and doesn’t have the reported wi-fi antenna defect that the S5e does. With the money I saved, I purchased a folio-style case and 12-month subscriptions to my preferred reading services.

As I am a techy type, every year I purchase a new phone and a new tablet. In my opinion, the Tab A 2019 has several Pros, which I show below. Well I have written this detailed review because I am hoping it will help you in your decision of whether or not to purchase this tablet.PROS:1. Large Internal Storage at 64GB…After installing my apps, and taking in account the OS etc, I still have close to 50GB left, so lots of Storage left!2. WiFi…The WiFi is very strong and connected wonderfully to my ATT Router. I can get onto my WiFi even in my backyard! And I have never had a weak WiFi Signal even when I walked outside to my mailbox, backyard and more! The WiFi stays strong!3. Camera and Video are both very good. I took some indoor pictures, outdoor pictures and recorded videos and pictures were vivid and clear. Videos were sharp.4. Screen Quality…The screen is very clear with vivid colors. My ebooks are super clear on this tablet.5. A 3.5 Plug for a wired headset (however, there is no headset included with tablet, so I used my JVC Gummy Headset and great sound. My Bluetooth Headset sounds great with this tablet.*** Note that the new Samsung S5e does NOT come with a 3.5 port and also, it is so expensive…just a couple of reasons why I decided to buy the Tab A 20196. Charger/Accessories…In the box is a Samsung US Charger base and cord. It is not fast charger but it charged plenty fast enough in my opinion. Also included is a small Get Started Booklet with directions.7. Sound Quality…This tablet’s speaker has good sound, however if you use the wired headset or Bluetooth, you can select Dolby sound and it sounds superb. This tablet has a 3.5 port for a wired headset, the sound is super.b.8. Battery Life…Excellent, I receive a full day with heavy use.9. Accepts a external SD card up to 512GB. I placed my 128GB SD card inside loaded with pictures and music files and still have 65GB left.10…Not a glass back…In my opinion, this is a PRO because a glass can break if the tablet is dropped.***I do suggest a case/cover to protect the tablet. Amazon sells the case/cover that fits this tablet.11…USB port accepts a OTG Flash Drive to copy files. It is a TYPE C port.12. Value…For a Mid Tablet, it is low priced and has many features. Great deal.Cons: Zero! For me personally, I did not find any cons…I love this Tablet.Would I purchase the tablet again? Yes, in a heartbeat!* Should you consider purchasing this tablet? Yes, if you want a very nice tablet for a good price that has so many great features, then you may want to consider purchasing this tablet.

OK, I’m a cheap SOB. I admit that. I experimented with a couple low price tablets (<= $100) and was disappointed each time. So I finally decided to stop dorking around and got a real, no kidding, Samsung Tablet and I am kicking myself for not doing that sooner.I tried an RCA Tablet from Walmart. It seemed like a good value and had a detachable keyboard. But it was horribly slow and clunky, so I offloaded that quickly.Next I tried the Amazon Fire 10. I am not here to bad mouth the Fire Tablet. If you are happy with the Fire operating system and the Amazon environment, it's a decent piece of hardware at a low price. It has a good display and it streams video and performs other entertainment tasks nicely. The battery life was not great but that was not a deal killer. However, what I really wanted was an Android device and while Fire is based on the Android operating system, it remains at its core a proprietary Amazon product. Of course, you can go on-line and figure out how to download and install the Google Play Store. I went a step further and installed a couple more apps to give me an Android-like home screen. With a bit more effort, I even made the Fire accept Android Widgets. So I finally got the Fire Tablet so that it kind of had an Android look and feel but at the end of the day, it still didn't do everything I wanted it to do. The big problem was compatibility with apps from the Google Play Store. Not everything I had on my Galaxy phone would work on the Fire. My frustration reached the tipping point when I found that the undated version of the American Airlines app was no longer compatible with my Fire. Since I travel frequently, that was a problem. Those experiences taught me the hard way that if you want an Android device that performs well with wide app compatibility, you can't do that on the cheap. Given that my goal was to have a tablet that was essentially a bigger version of my Samsung Galaxy phone, it finally dawned on my that I'd better get a real, no kidding Samsung Tablet. Duh!The Tab A became the answer. I use laptops or my desktop for heavy use. I use my tablet on travel (invaluable if you fly American Airlines since they expect you to stream entertainment on your own device). I also use it in the living room for a quick web search. So I did not need all the bells and whistles of the higher end Samsung tablets. Looking at the specs and the reviews, I became convinced the Tab A would meet my needs. That has certainly been the case. The Tab A has allowed me to set it up with most of the same apps I have on my Galaxy phone. The display is fantastic and the battery life has been a huge improvement over the fire. I can keep several apps open without performance problems. So for my needs, it is nearly perfect. I waited a few weeks before posting a review but my Tab A remains a pleasure every time I pick it up.It is not the cheapest tablet out there but in the low $200's, it gives you plenty of bang for the buck. I just feel dumb I did not heed the old expression, "You get what you pay for." It really is true.

I love this soo much! My game cooking diary doesn’t crash, go slow nor show the ishy customers. I love the sound on it! The pictures, videos, games are so clear! I’ve never spent this money on a tablet before. But like everyone says you get what you paid for!

So this is my 1st tablet so I was alittle leery and I did alot of reading of reviews before I ultimately made my decision. I decided to go with what I felt was the best and I believe I made the absolute right choice. I love this tablet, its the perfect size, not too bulky, not too heavy, awesome screen size!! Excellent performance, long battery life. I did go with the smaller gig size but I had a new 128gig micro chip for a new device already to go but even at the base 32 here I have games and 100’s and 100’s of photos and even before putting in my extra storage chip I had plenty of room. I did purchase this device to basically try and replace my laptop and it looks like that will be happening bc its working out just fine. Again with the addition I have plenty of storage so I’m able to do my work, I do some freelance writing and artistic designs so something this size is very easy to always have with me should inspiration strike. I’m also able to play alittle while trying to work so again I do have quite a few games on there but also all my book files, blogs, plus any and all of my kindle library to read when I’m not writing my own or just goofing off, searching the web, etc… Plus all my photos are on their now, also making it easy to add to my documents, books, articles, blogs, flyers and brochures. The screen and image quality are excellent and its just the right size with all the right features for all of my work and play needs. I would definitely recommend if you’re in the market for a new tablet and you’re able this is the tablet to get. Being new it is obviously alittle more pricey but its worth it for me and if you require some of the same qualities that I did you will not be disappointed with this purchase, I know I’m not, I’m very happy with it and so glad I got it!

I wanted to write a review for this tablet even though I just received it a few days ago. If it dies on me or doesn’t measure up i’ll come back and revise my review. There are very few reviews on this because it’s a fairly new release so not many people have bought it yet.I did a lot of research for this tablet. Thanks to the confusion in searching for tablets on Amazon and this having so few reviews, I didn’t even think it was legit until I searched the Samsung website and this model came up (same price here and there btw). I buy tech (like phones and laptops) and use them until they die or aren’t supported with updates anymore (more on that later). I read a lot of tech reviews on this since there are hardly any reviews here. I considered Kindles but really wanted something that runs android/google out of the box, which Kindles don’t (without some hacking that I didn’t want to attempt).I wanted the newest tablet for the best value, to perform basic tablet functions (no crazy gaming, etc), on Android and this seems to be the jackpot.A couple things I found out in my search and comparison with other tablets that others might want to know:1- First (and most important to me), this tablet has the newest Android OS- 9.0 Pie. This is one of the only tablets that runs Pie out of the box, at this price anyway. Some newer tablets run 8.0 Oreo. Most newer and more affordable ones run Lollipop, Marshmallow or Nougat. Having the newest OS is important to me because it means I’ll get to keep this as long as possible and lower my likelihood of having issues down the line with updates ending and things not being supported. Some would say this isn’t that important, it is to me.2- This tablet has 2GB of RAM not 3, which I guess is an issue for some people who may use a tablet for more processor intensive things. I don’t plan on that. I plan on reading, watching netflix, youtube, etc and doing stuff on apps and the internet. So far it’s plenty fast (almost instant) for all of that. (FYI The 64 GB version of this tablet has the 3GB RAM).3- This doesn’t support the S-pen. I don’t care about that at all, but maybe some people would like to know.4- It has a headphone jack, yay!!!5- It has a microSD card slot for expandable storage. Cool if I happen to need that later, probably not.To sum it all up, this tablet is probably the best on the market for the price. The only downside I found was it’s a bit difficult finding screen protectors and cases with enough reviews to know if they’re good or not, because the tablet hasn’t been out very long. I did some additional research by searching the best screen protector brands and cases for the recent Galaxy Tab A’s and then searched to see if they made anything for this Tab A 10.1 2019. I’m including the links for the screen protectors and case I bought from Sparin (known for good screen protectors) and ProCase (good reviews for prev Tab cases). The screen protector is tempered glass, went on beautifully, fit perfectly and comes with 3 for only $13! That’ll probably last the life of the tablet! The case is really nice and sturdy which is why I buy cases. I don’t like slim “skin-like” cases, I want my tablet protected, it also props it up nicely.Screen protectors: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QMK2FMM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s01?ie=UTF8&psc=1Case: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QMLT1XT/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Hope that helps someone, this is a really awesome tablet for the price.

When you get this and break all the seals, you will take it in your hands and find it very light. Use the key and put your mini SD card in before putting it in a case. I bought a Finite and forgot to put the card in, which made me almost determine I would never get to use a card. Finally managed to extract the device. Those cases are super; they own your device and do not want to let go.When you have charged it and turn it on the screen will immediately alert you to the fact you are in for a treat. This tablet is lovely, and the appearance is just the beginning. Apps work fast and without glitches. If you use a laptop, you may find yourself using this instead.I Bluetooth the tablet to my TotalPA speaker, and the music is phenomenal. I had been streaming from a Dell laptop or my Galaxy S8, and this opened the sound wider than ever. I like Queen, and it clarified lyrics I had been missing. The music is very well balanced and adjustable for different age listeners. My router is in a bedroom with walls between where I most commonly use the tablet, I have no signal loss, and I stream probably 12 hours a day. I do leave it plugged in when I am not walking with the tablet. If you compare specs with the more expensive Galaxy now current, you will notice the differences are not extreme, especially for the price differential. I have checked out the current iPads at Sam’s Club, and I find this tablet makes an excellent comparison.Amazon keeps offering incentives where it gives additional money off this tablet, grab it when one of these is available.I read some negative reviews, but my experience is stellar, and in my opinion, you can never go wrong with Samsung.Just a little note, Samsung screens are exceptional; the clarity, vibrancy, focus are a treat for the eye.
