The product is great and the value ($300) was amazing for the quality.Negative is the fact that the remote control came with the batteries low and works for a few seconds and after that went dead, before I finished the installation so it makes me think something was wrong with the product. After I figured out th8s and replace the batteries everything worked fine.On the other hand the smartthings options are too limited but I suspect this is something negative for Smartthings instead of the soundbar.

1st the bad part:This is not a true 7.1 system… It can only decode Dolby digital 5.1 and DTS 5.1… Not Dolby Digital Plus, nor DTS-X. Not even Dolby Atmos. I guess it tries to “simulate” 2 extra channels but you really cant even tell if it does or not because those extra 2 “simulated” channels are on the sound bar. I’m not sure exactly how many speakers are on the soundbar but you can only differentiate the left, right and center channels.I’m dissapointed with the 2.1 audio that comes out the sound bar and sub by themselves (without the 2 surround speakers). Even though it has bluetooth stereo, I have a 20 year old Sound blaster cambridge audio 2.1 computer speaker set with a 5 inch sub that puts this samsung soundbar/sub combo to shame. Music doesnt sound that great unless you really turn up the volume. But even then it lacks a deep rich bass that should be properly felt especially if you listen to hip hop/pop/RnB.There are settings where you can adjust the bass, woofer and treble. But its almost mandatory to keep those setting all the way up. Its hard to explain, but if you turn those settings all the way up, it still sounds like you should be able turn them up a few notches higher. It feels like you’re being held back. The Positive:I will say that this system does sound really good, loud and clear when watching to a true 5.1 audio source, like a movie or game. The surround sound really gives this system life and it gives you a real immersive experience.Although you dont get a deep, rich, vibrating bass when listening to music, the subwoofer strikes really well when you hear movie effects. The bass is more suited to play powerful striking effects such as thunder and lightning or explosions and gun shots vs playing a deep vibrating thump that you expect from a rap song. Watching a movie like godzilla was really immersive. It was like I felt Godzilla’s presence nearby, from the ground stomping to the high pitch loud shrieking that he does, I felt the action all the way to my bones.Whats also great is that it gets really loud and the sound stays crystal clear. The volume at 30% is enough for someone to walk in and say “dam… thats kinda lound.”Ive barely turned them up past 50% because at that point its like “WOW!! This is pretty loud. I should probably turn this down a little bit.”The wireless rear speakers work great for me and they’re real convenient for my room setup. They arent 100% wireless because you still have to connect them to a box that connects to the wall outlet, but thats just fine for me because I dont have to worry about wires in open space going from the tv to the couch. This shouldnt be an issue unless you’re sitting in the middle of the room with no walls either behind you or to the sides.I have no issues connecting via hdmi to the arc port in my TV. Even if you dont have ARC, it still delivers hdmi 2.0 pass through. Content that passes through at 4K HDR 60fps plays perfectly on my TV.I dont think you will find a better 5.1 audio system at this $299 price. Even at $450 its still a decent deal. You dont need to worry about buying an audio receiver with 4k input/output and you dont have to worry about a wired speaker system to attach to the receiver.I really resent giving this 5 stars because its labelled as a 7.1 system when its really just 5.1. This is blatantly dishonest and I’m really appalled by Samsung. The only thing thats “7.1” about it is that it delivers a really loud and clear sound. But I guess thats not only samsung’s fault because it seems to be the industry standard to upsell these soundbar systems. Nowadays there are so many soundbar/subwoofer combo systems that are labelled as 5.1 when they are clearly not. But all in all, this does deliver a great and immersive movie watching experience and probably the best you can get for $299.

I love this so far. Sounds great in our small living room and looks good too. It is a good deal for the price! Warning: do NOT buy the speaker stands listed in “frequently bought together”. They do not work for these rear channel speakers. The rear mounting screw it too big for the keyhole on these, and the wires do not fit in the wire channel. Just FYI.

The directions for set up were straight forward. I had it set up on my T.V. within an hour, but I found out right away that the remote wouldn’t adjust the volume. So I did the firmware download and applied it to the sound bar. Then the remote wouldn’t work at all.I emailed them (Thousands of Electronics) and got a prompt reply that I would be getting a new remote. Less than a week later I got the remote and it wouldn’t work either. An email later, Carly instructed me to perform the set up again.Everything works as it should and I’m a very happy customer! Thank you Carly at Thousands of Electronics!

Installed in my skoolie and everything works wonderful. Watched La la Land for a sound test along with StarWars for action Sound test. Everything Sounds Amazing. Idk why is there so much hate with things cutting out or quality issues but it sounds pretty great to me, and I am super particular when it comes to sound.

Bought a refurb set. Didn’t sound too good with connecting the sound bar’s Bluetooth to my LG TV, but it did pair easily. The audio was there, but the bass really wasn’t at first. Had to really crank up the sound to really get some bass response. Switched to the HDMI ARC in/out from my TV and the sound amplified quite a bit. After that it was just a matter of tweaking and fine tuning the internal EQ, speaker placement and levels. I don’t know if the subwoofer is self amplified, but at the levels I was running it, it didn’t seem to clip. FYI, it’s a ported enclosure. In general the system is both satisfying in terms of going loud and staying clear. I’m really happy with it, I only wish the subwoofer had its own crossover level.———-Update 2 weeks later:Although using the HDMI ARC sounds more amplified than the Bluetooth, the sound levels are just way-way off. The rear speakers are much too loud even at the lowest level setting, the sub is very sensitive, and the center channel is really hard to hear, especially with soft spoken voices and when there’s dialogue during action scenes. I prefer not to use subtitles, but have had to turn them on more frequently now.Last option was optical, which reviewers already said no good to, but My TV can play both internal speaker + optical simultaneously. Going this route allows me to independently control the TV and the sound bar volumes. It took some back and forth tuning, but finally found that happy medium, but to watch the movies loud, the sound bar does need to be cranked up more than HDMI ARC, when using optical.

I pulled out my Y_amaha receiver and K_lipsch surround speakers to put down new flooring. Having removed the carpet, I could no longer hide wires. These having wireless rear speakers and the sound bar compatible with my TV (same brand) it just made since. Happy, very happy with it, I like the sound as much as my old speakers that cost oh so much more than these. The instructions sucked for hooking up the rear speakers, once we figured that out, we have really liked them a lot.

Love this system! Instructions were non-existent and it was complicated to setup. Fills my 30’x30′ room with 20′ ceilings, with sound. Great bass.

I wish I had taken a few photos while unboxing but I think we all know what brand new looks like. It came in the original box and has stickers on the exterior stating it is refurbished. I could see the box was opened and inside contained lots of instructions and 3D bar codes to take you to YouTube videos on how to set it up. Everything was in the ORIGINAL wrapping so I have no idea what was refurbished.I have it all set up and it sounds great!!Complaints about the weak sub woofer are unfounded. I found a difference in output generated based on the settings in my TV. When I changed it to Dolby Digital it was great!! If you are looking for some base that will loosen your fillings… this is not for you. But I am going to have to tone it down a bit or my neighbor will complain.OK, so the set up process is a bit tricky and not straight forward. I learned from the video that to get it to sync you need to:Press the “ID SET” button on the sub woofer and get a flashing blue light,Use a paperclip to press a recessed “ID SET” button on the remote speakers located below the speaker wire ports.Power on the sound bar, press the remote control ring at the 12 o’clock position for 5 seconds, and the sound bar will go to “ID SET” mode. This is what will learn the remote speakers and the sub woofer. You can adjust the volume of the treble, base, and remote speakers by toggling through the settings menu from the remote by pressing the gear icon to cycle through them all. See my photos. The remote speakers are much smaller than I realized when I looked at photos posted by others. They are small and you can see the dimensions yourself. Perfectly sized in my opinion.Mine is connected using the HDMI ARC port on my TV and it turns the bar on and off with the TV power. The last photo provided shows the brief display to identify how I am connected. You can toggle between the connection options by hitting the rectangle with a right arrow on the remote as shown in the last photo.

TL;DR A great little surround system, priced well. This is a pretty effective pseudo-wireless surround speaker system. I’m using it with a 65″ screen, it seems well sized to that. The surround effects are audible – they add the right ambience. The sub at least lets me know there’s bass there. No wireless sub in a surround system at this price will be able to follow every one of Jimi’s notes precisely. But it does add distinguishable bass, at the same time it’s not intrusive. Biggest thing is that the decoding when hooked up via HDMI to the TV ARC channel … is fine. I had a “higher end” 3.1 soundbar for twice the price, and it always would do funny things with the sound decoding.
