Just bought a Nikon D5300, and want something to shoot at least 10 seconds of fast burst, full JPG size and best quality, action — without breaking the bank. I had an older 16GB Class 10 card, with which the continuous burst speed I wanted was only achievable at small size, fine quality JPG, or medium size, normal quality JPG, so I went learning and shopping. The D5300 does not have a huge internal buffer, and can do 5fps at best JPG size and quality — POTENTIALLY. I learned that cards made for 4K or better video, with the “V__” rating (the higher the number in the ___ the better — I think V30 or higher is recommended for 4K video), would be most likely to do what I needed. This card fit the bill! Rated at V30 (30MB/sec minimum sustained speed), a highly-regarded name brand, and 64GB, but still inexpensive, I bought it with high hopes. When I got it, I was glad the packaging was easy to open, and that the card came with its own little case. Into the camera it went. I switched the quality to highest and size to largest JPG, and rattled off about 70 shots (14 seconds or so) continuously with NO SLOWDOWN! It did then start to slow down to perhaps 3-4 fps, so if I needed more than 14 seconds or so of 5fps burst shots, I’d set the quality to normal (medium setting) and likely be able to continue at the 5fps rate.SO: Though I have not tested read speed, nor used this card very long, I am VERY happy with the performance that it and the D5300 together are able to make! The right card really CAN make a big difference! Don’t upgrade your camera for faster burst shooting without first considering upgrading your SD card! Happy shooting!

The SD card in my Fuji digital camera had been acting up for a while, often throwing card errors on card insertion. Recently it got much worse, then fell apart altogether, so I looked for a replacement. I settled on SanDisk, not the only option out there, but a good solid brand. The claimed 90MB/s transfer rate for the SanDisk Extreme is a huge improvement over the previous card, which was also Sandisk but was a Class 10 card which (if you search a little, you will find) is rated for only 10MB/s sustained transfer. My camera accepted the new card without any issues, recognizing it immediately and formatting it without hesitation. It’s a little difficult to judge changes on transfer rate in an application like this, but the camera seems to be saving photos faster. Certainly there is little enough price difference between this and a Class 10 card to make it practically a no-brainer. I’ll be able to get a better idea of transfer performance after I shoot some video. Two Technical Thug thumbs up on this one.

Before buying these, I had thought that my Nikon camera was worn out from 4 years of use. I was so disappointed with the degrated quality from when I first got it as a package that also came with a card.BUT after shooting some pictures with this card, I realized that my camera is STILL WORKING GREAT and that it seemed to lack quality because I had begun using cheapest cards from the local stores. I was buying th cheap ones so that I could leavethe pictures on the cards as a backup. While these cards are not super expensive, after researching, I found out about the “number in the circle “. This one is a 10 and my cheapies were a 4. Don’t make the same mistake, just get the 10!

Excellent price, fast shipping and good quality memory card that takes fast continuous shots even in low light with my A6500. Playback on full HD videos taken is also super clear and crisp. Tried a short 4k video and again superb quality. Highly satisfied with this card. Thanks.

I tested this drive with a USB adapter for a PC, and tested with large video files to get an idea of the read/write speeds. The read and write speeds exceeded the specs, working with about 15GB of data. I was reading at about 185 MB/s over 15GB of data read from this drive and written to an NVMe which is a bit faster. Considering this is rated for 150MB/s, that’s VERY good. The write speed was also excellent. This disk is rated for about 70MB/s and I got closer to 85MB/s. Once again, writing to this drive, and coming from an NVMe, it was writing at about 85MB/s, and this is rated for 90MB/s.However, the way my system wrote to this drive was almost as if this has about 4GB very fast cache, or it has a small segment of very fast storage, because my system showed that within about 5-6 seconds it had already written about 4GB to it. Then it slowed down and it was showing something like 160 – 180MB/s for a time period, and then the write operation for the PC showed as complete. The USB adapter though was still showing activity, meaning that data was still in the process of getting written, and probably from it’s fastest storage to slower storage. The time I calculated for the write time included all the time that the USB adapter was showing activity. If I would have based the write time on when the computer showed the write was completed, the write speed would have been more like 100MB/sI tried to read about these SD cards but couldn’t see anything about faster cache or a small amount of fast storage, but that’s the way the disk seems to work as far as what the Operating System showed. I know that modern SSDs use that strategy to improve performance, so when you test write operations, you always have to write more data than the size of the cache to see the speed that the main storage runs at.Also, the read/write speeds are listed as “up to”, so there is no guarantee that you’ll get the speeds that are listed for any period of time. All I know is that working with 15GB of data, this disk performed exceptionally well.Either way, I’m very impressed with it, and as long as it lasts a long time I’ll be happy. It was a great price when I bought it and worth every penny.

Having UHS-II is nice but having more memory cards with lots of space is better than having less cards because like all things, it’s not a matter of “if” it will fail but “when”—so load up on lots of SD cards. Don’t get too big because if you lose that card, that is a lot to lose.Everyone who buys memory cards should test if it’s fake, so if you’re on Mac, try Disk Speed Test by Blackmagicdesign. If you’re on Windows, I recommend h2testw. 1. Insert your SD card into your computer 2. Run h2testw.exe 3. Select “English” 4. Click “Select target” 5. Select your SD card’s drive letter 6. Ensure “all available space” is selected 7. Click “Write + Verify” 8. Wait until the process is completedThe test took about 30min for me. The time varies due to SD card size.If the test finished without errors, your SD card is good and you can delete all .h2w files on your SD card.If the test shows any other results, your SD card may be corrupted or damaged and you may have to return/replace.I bought 4x of SanDisk 128GB when it was $24 for my mirrorless. It’s Sandisk—reliable, durable, and best bang for your buck.

I’m not a professional photographer, just a happy hobbyiest. I was happy before, but now I’m really happy now that I’ve bought this Sandisk Extreme 64GB card. Coming from a very old, but reliable Sandisk SD card, I am very very happy with this upgrade. It’s like going from Windows 95 to Windows 10 Haha. I will definitely buy from this seller again. For those that are complaining about getting a bad card, I hope you can get with the seller and get an exchange or refund and try again. I kept in mind the reviews about counterfeit cards and packages that looked odd. Thankfully mine looked good and so far functions as it should. For those that are complaining about the low speeds, please take a note what host device you are using to read and write your files from the SD card to your computer etc and visa versa. My laptop is an 8 year old HP. I was expecting my onboard SD card reader to read and transfer files very slow due to its age and how fast technology evolves these days. Blink an eye and there’s new stuff and faster speeds out. I was proven very wrong in my opinion. I also have an older external Sandisk MobileMate+ USB SD card reader to test and I knew it could be slow due to it’s age (I’ve had it at least 10yrs I guess if not more), but didn’t know it was that slow (see last picture in my review). That thing is now in the drawer for extreme emergencies if my onboard SD card reader stops working (knock on wood that it doesn’t). When I get a new laptop, if it does not have an onboard SD card reader, then I will buy the new SanDisk SD UHS-I Card Reader – SDDR-C531-GNANN to reach those higher speeds like the package says. I was expecting to have to buy that if my current laptop’s SD card reader was slow like my old card was transferring. In my last 2 pictures, you can see the difference in my old 4GB Sandisk SD card and this new Sandisk Extreme 64GB. Card came formatted with extFAT and worked flawlessly. I will update this review if the card’s reliability changes. I’m hoping not.

I bought this specifically for the faster transfer rates. Not so much for the camera side – but rather for transferring the photos to the computer. I can tell you it works as expected. While I don’t regularly fill these guys up, it was a bit annoying having to wait 15+ minutes for all the files to copy over. Now wait times are regularly in the 3 to 4 minute range. On the camera side, I shoot a lot of video, and never notice any buffering issues.

Note: Review from 3 months usageWhen I got my Panasonic G85, it was bundled with the 32GB Sandisk Extreme SDHC. Based on that experience I purchased the 64GB Sandisk Extreme SDXC card as a daily driver.Write performance from the card was great, although this camera doesn’t push it as hard as some others do and the read performance maxed out what my aging USB3 card reader can do (~85 to 90MB/s). The card was formatted for exFAT which allows the camera to write one large video file instead of splitting into 4GB chunks (your mileage may vary depending on your camera of choice.)Time will tell how reliable it is but so far so good. If I had to ding it for anything it is that you can find better deals but sometimes it is worth the extra premium when the product performs as advertised.

This is a great card it doing 4k. But lock switch on side flips on a lot. If lock switch slides down just slide it back up to unlock
