i got this kit because i needed one for my other Gaming set up, i figure ok audio is enough, but with this mic you get crispy clear audio.Short words, is it worth it? heck yeah.Built quality is top notchcons: i find no purpose of the front buttons on the actual micFinal thoughts: it’s a great product, great price can’t go wrong

I’ve always used the microphone from my computer or Bluetooth headset. With all the ZOOM meetings and working from home these days, I thought it be an opportunity to check out a higher quality mic. I saw these on Amazon and figured it was worth a try as it came with everything – stand, microphone, filters.Straight out of the box with a quick install, the mic worked just as advertised – 100% plug and play into my laptop. To check out the difference in audio quality, I opened up ZOOM and tested the mic. I tested the built-in laptop mic first and head it play back, then selected the new mic and listened to the play back. I was amazed at the difference! The computer mic sounds like you’re taking in an aluminum can. This USB condensing mic produces a full, rich voice recording. I was stunned at the difference. I can’t tell you how different it is from something like the YETI, but it’s worlds different than your computer mic. The set up is also quite convenient as you can push the mic away when not in use and pull it back to your face when you want to use it. Another great feature is that the mic is sensitive enough that it’ll pick up your voice as you look at your monitor and talk – you don’t have be shouting towards the mic. After a week or so of testing the mic, I also learned a few things to be aware of. 1) The mic is sensitive (as with all condensing microphones) so it will catch background noise (like a loud fan). 2) The stand could definitely use an upgrade. It’s great this comes with a stand, but I would say this is probably entry level or slightly better. It works just fine, but I notice that sometimes the mic starts to sag. You’ll have to tighten the finger screws a little once in a while. I did some research for better stands and they cost more than this entire set up alone. 3) You can mute/unmute the mic by holding down on the volume buttons. If you don’t hear anything for your recording, look for the blue light to confirm it’s on and hold down the volume button to unmute.Overall, the mic+stand set is great. The mic produces a rich, full sound and the stand works as intended. It’s 100% plug and play… all you have to do is set up and plug it in.

So, I bought this a little before Christmas to use with my youtube videos because the built-in mics on my cameras were not quite as good as I would like. I finally got a chance to test it out yesterday and I have to say that my initial experience with this mic is very positive. This thing is drop-dead simple to use. I had never before in my life used any mic system like this one and I had it out of the box and set up in just minutes. It is important to note that this is a Digital mic, not an Anolog mic. This is exactly what I wanted because I wanted to record straight to my computer without having to go through an analog to digital soundboard system, which are not cheap. That is exactly what this mic does. It is USB and you plug it right into your laptop or PC and start recording. In my case, I have a Windows 10 laptop and all I had to do was plug the mic into it and within seconds, it was ready to use. No setup, configuration or anything; It was just plug and go.I tested it against all four of the cameras that I use to record video with. These are a Sony A6500 mirrorless ICL camera (DSLR styleL, an SJCAM SJ7 Star Action Camera, and a Panasonic V180k Camcorder. I recorded a single phrase simultaneously on all these and then played each one back and compared the results with the audio file produced by the TONOR USB Condenser Microphone Recording Mic. The results were very clear. None of the other mics came close to the quality of recording that I got out of this mic. My voice sounded much more fuller and crisp with this microphone and there was a lot less background noise as well. The whole system feels very well built and feels like it will last. Time will tell this though. This is now my primary recording microphone for in studio recording. I will be using it a lot in the future and I will come back here and update this review once I have had a little more experience with it. For now, I am very happy.

When I received it I was pretty happy with how it was packaged but was a bit skeptical of the quality at first but once I had it all set up and tested it out I was pleasantly surprised at how good the quality was, sure the other stuff is all cheap stuff but it all does what you need. I recommend this for sure If you need to up your Mic game because this will surely do it. The Mic Feels solid and quality and completely Plug and play. For the Price you can’t go wrong so it is a winner in my book.

Edit: All issues I had with this microphone were resolved when I restarted my computer! Now it is back to being perfect. So with that being said I highly recommend this microphone. It was interesting that it was a glitch actually from my computer’s side of things so I would try restarting your computer if you suddenly run into any issues!I’ve had this microphone for a little over 5 months now and it’s suddenly no longer working properly. It was SO great in the beginning! And I just plugged it in (I leave it at home in a safe place when not in use) and it’s having a strange glitchy effect in the sound where it seems to stop recording every other second. I’m very sad by this because I was really enjoying this for recording my podcasts. I can’t seem to find a way to get in touch with someone from the company to discuss this with, because I would love some answers as to why it is suddenly doing this. If this can be fixed than I would gladly stick with this microphone, otherwise I’ll have to take my money elsewhere.

Covid-19 turned 2020 into the year of video conference calls. Rather it be school or work video conference calls we have spent an absorbent amount of time doing zoom meetings. This little mic has helped me with that the ability. This is the third mic I have bought this year to help with digital communication and I think that I might be done for awhile because this one has finished up the rest of my needs. With the ability to mount just about any desk or I really like this little mic. The packaging was really put together well. I have to say I am really happy with the quality of the mic overall. Also done a few recordings with this mic and the sound quality that comes out of it is really nice and much better than that in the webcam. Made some of my friends jealous with how versatile the mic was and the sound quality.

I am super impressed and very happy with the Tonor Q9 Mic and system. The MIc is really stylish and looks cool. I got this Mic system to start a Podcast and I figured it got a lot of good reviews and I figured for 50 dollars why not? Well I’m very happy and surprised. I sound great on the Podcast. I’ve listened to other Podcasts and found that this Q9 Mic is every bit as good. I think my voice sounds great! The Extension Arm looks and works great. It swivels 360 degrees. The clamp that hold the system up works nice and is very strong. The Pop Filter fit and works nice and everything about this home Podcast set up is really nice. I’m super happy and I’m proud of my Mic set up. It looks like a much more expensive DJ system but far less. Very happy and highly recommend.I also choose the USB system because I wanted something that would connect to my computer easily. It connected right away and all I did was plug it in and start the Podcast App and it worked great! The Cable is thick and I like that the Mic has a nice quality weight and everything about is top quality. Yes I recommend this Set-up for anyone on a budget and wants a good system, this is a great value.

  8. NeoCrypter

Let me start out by saying I am very picky when it comes to microphones, I have been doing content creation for youtube and twitch for over 5 years. That being said, this mic really surprised me. It has a great sound to it, the lows sound clean and not muddy, the highs are nice and clear and for a Condenser Microphone it picks up very little background noise which is simply impressive at this price point. My viewers have compared it to the sound quality of mics twice its price such as the Blue Yeti and honestly I agree.ProsComplete Kit has everything you need to get started with streaming or youtubeComes with a shock mountComes with a pop filter and a Windsock ( though you only really need to use one of them ) So options are good!Construction feels very solidVery well packaged no chance of it being damaged during shippingCons ( Mostly me being nit-picky )The Volume controls on the mic are very clicky and come across the audio very clearly if you decided to adjust the volume or mute the mic live via this method. The microphone arm is pretty cheap and genericOverall, I can say I would recommend this microphone for someone just starting out or as a solid back up microphone.

I ordinarily use a high end microphone with a professional mixing board for my podcast. However, I had an opportunity to interview a guest on the ride up to a meeting with a DJ at a radio station in NJ. I brought along my portable mobile studio setup, (very expensive, I might add) and it ended up not working. AT ALL.I decided to try using a USB mic that plugs straight into the computer and almost immediately, came a cross an ad for the Tonor Q-9. Best decision I could possibly have made!It arrived within 4 days and I immediately booted up my Macbook Pro to try it out. I was quite impressed with this kit. Now, I’m not saying this sounds as good as my more expensive high end mic, but then, my USB interface requires the computer to be plugged in to work. Which renders my expensive studio setup completely useless as a totally mobile solution. However, the Tonor Q-9 USB mic is exactly what the doctor ordered for taking my show on the road. It’s crisp, records effortlessly, and after finding the “sweet spot” – I was able to record with no echo or background noise. What little noise I encounter, I can fix in post production during editing. I do that anyway, no matter which mic i use. This may not be the greatest mic you can buy at any price, BUT for the money – you can’t beat this at all. Besides the mic, you also get the accessories most other brands require you to purchase a la carte. So, yes!… If you’re in the market for a decent, inexpensive USB mic for podcasting, gaming, even recording vocals for music – I would not hesitate to recommend the Tonor Q-9 USB microphone. If not as your go-to, then at least as a very good back-up!

I purchased this for an assistant that wouldn’t shut up about having their own mic. With the cost of a good mic and desk arm costing a minimum of $500 the Tonor mic package is really good value for the money. The signal to noise ratio is good, nothing overtly obvious, no buzzing or humming. The overall tonality is good, better than a regular condenser and fine for your average VO needs and definitely fine for streaming audio. Of course you’re not going to use it on high end production, but we’re using it for broadcast news and it better than the junk mic’s provides by the network. The accessories while not super high quality do the job sufficiently and reliably. The arm is good, easy to position and holds readily. I’ll give this mic a B+. For its price range it will be very hard to beat. One thing to not however is that you don’t talk into the top of the mic as pictured in allot of these customer photos and as the assistant in my office insists on using it. The diaphragm sits just above the gain or “volume” buttons on the front. So you speak into the front, not the flat top. I’ve included a picture for clarification from the manufacturers website. If you speak into the top the diaphragmwill be pointing at the floor and you’re recording will sound “off mic” (muffled, without clarity and pick up extra noise from fans etc).
