10 reviews for Universal Floor Stand – CTA Universal Height-Adjustable

  1. Judi Easley for a thoughtful reveal

I’ve got a new 11″ tablet and it’s too heavy for my old stand, which it slid right out of. It got “droopy head” because it was too heavy for the round plastic joint on the second stand..sort of looked like a sunflower with its head down. The tablet was too heavy for the plastic joints. Finally, this stand does the trick! It’s sturdy enough for the 11″ tablet and very adjustable. Plus ➕, there’s a pocket I can tuck my phone into. And it’s on wheels so I can easily move it around as I need to. Recommended.

I had to get another stand when my iPad Air died. The stand I had for it would not fit the 12″ size of the iPad Pro. Thanks to helpful Amazon reviewers, I decided this stand was the one to get. I couldn’t be happier! I use it primarily for reading books on the Kindle app in bed. it’s the perfect height. The height of my bed is about 28″, and the height to the bottom edge of the iPad is 35″ to be at eye level. The gooseneck is flexible and stays put. I can rotate the iPad 360 degrees easily. I’m not very mechanical so assembly was a bit of a challenge, but nothing I couldn’t figure out through trial and error. This stand is quite a bit heavier than the previous one and very sturdy. The base is heavy so it doesn’t tip over easily. I prefer that it doesn’t have wheels because I don’t want it to move around. When using the stand for FaceTime chats, I can adjust the height to my face level when seated. I wish everyone would do this. Who wants to chat with someone looking up their nostrils and double chins? Not I, that’s for sure. In portrait orientation with the camera at the top is just perfect, almost like you’re in the room with the person. The stand doesn’t extend high enough to chat while standing, though, unless you’re cool with the nostril view position. The corner grips hold the iPad very securely. The springs are pretty strong. Someone with limited hand strength might have a problem with them. I haven’t checked to see if they can be loosened.

  3. Consumer

As a psychotherapist working remotely during the age of Covid-19 this has been a godsend for my iPad. No more fidgeting with books and tabletop stands to get the screen at a good angle. Gooseneck makes this really flexible to ANY position and the connection at the neck also has a wide range of motion. Best is being able to put it to your side and bend it in front of you…Now I can put my legs out or on an ottoman. Very stable to boot and the wheels make it easy to move around and lock so it stays put…and the mechanism that holds the tablet in place is just tight enough (I dented an earlier iPad with a too tight holder!)…you can view in portrait or horizontal easily. The little holder attached to the pole is a gray place to put your phone and because it is magnetic it’s good place for your Apple Pencil.Good price to boot!

This CTA gooseneck Holds my large ipad pro. Its strong and not tippy and does not sag. Its easy to carry the whole shoot-shebang from room to room. The sturdy feet are flat enough that there is no danger of accidently stubbing a toe on them. Had to remove my case to make it fit. Only 1 thing is very annoying and i dislike immensely that when my ipad is in landscape mode it cant tip up and down but only side to side. Its a desighn flaw built into the stand. Removing the ipad once its in place is a hassel so i just dont do it. If you found this review helpfull, please press that helpful button to say thanks.

Sturdy and works! Was afraid it would be tippy but it is not! Lightweight and rolls easily. Husband said it was a bit hard to tell the top piece from the bottom for the feet/legs, so had to carefully review. This was similar to other reviews. But mine not wobbly, all wheels flat on ground. Also tablet. Holder is great size! At first thought it would be too snug, reread instruction and used button on mount, the one arm has teeth that slide out for larger tablets. Then it was perfect fit! Fits my tablet with case perfect.

  6. Peppermint Rushing

First let me start with if you are in the fence about buying this JUST BUY IT NOW! I have arthritis and other health issues that can leave me laying down a lot or up during the night having trouble sleeping. Before this stand I had to strategically place my iPad between my knees and keep my legs bent or prop it on a pillow. This is perfect for on the couch, in the bed. Standing in the kitchen using it for music or recipes. I am always afraid of knocking it off the cabinet or into the sink or getting food on it. NO more worries. Also this is fantastic for doing vlogs, face time, today I used it in one of my face book groups about the love of flat cloth diapers, I demonstrated some things about a diaper and did not need to move a tripod because I needed more room one minute and move it closer the next. This is built well so far. I use it daily. The only thing that would be amazing is if they made accessories like a clamp on keyboard tray.

I got the Heavy duty with security holder (metal) and it’s great. Stable (six legs) but porable (they’re on rollers). Streches out nicely for standing reading (Though if you’re six foot tall you’ll be looking at a downward angle). I use it for reading my 10 inch e-ink tablet, while standing or moving about freely.I also own one with a Vesa attachment for my secondary monitor. It’s also similarly heavy duty and great, as long as you make sure your monitor is within the weight limit they note, so that it won’t droop.Great stands to encourage standing!

  8. Curtis

Awesome stand for IPad, I will say I’m not super impressed with the corner holders for the iPad, it is a little difficult to get it to hold my iPad 6 with an Otter box protective case, however it does work, the height adjustment is perfect for what I’m sitting in my La-Z-Boy, or I can adjust higher when I’m laying in bed. No more fidgeting around trying to hold an iPad to work or play at the same time, my brother thinks I’m lazy, I told him laxy would be buying another iPad and another iPad stand so that I will not have to move it between my La-Z-Boy and my bed ! Great product, One thing I would ask is a little bit of the redesign for the protective cases that people use now…..You see in some of the pictures it has a cross stand, if you put the wrong piece on top of the other piece then the stand wobbles by a quarter-inch, however if you flip it around and have the correct piece on top and the correct piece on bottom it is perfect no wobble at all

  9. Truckle

I don’t want to develop the ‘Dowager’s Hump’ due to constantly bending my head forward. This item was delivered quickly, well packaged, good instructions, not hard to assemble – and works fantastically well. I’m not mechanically minded, but I just laid out all the pieces on the carpet, checked I had everything, then followed the directions. Not hard. Took about 15 minutes. I wanted something that could be positioned over my sleeping area, allowing my hands free. No worries of me falling asleep and being restricted by any apparatus holding the kindle. In the morning, I just position it so that it allows me to sit with head straight.I deliberately purchased the item with wheels so I could move it easily. I haven’t taken it out of the unit, just move it where ever I wish and use the pole to raise the height or just bend the gooseneck. I use it in the kitchen whilst cooking.I have even charged it while situated in the stand. It’s a winner for me!

Good stand. I’m very satisfied. Perfect for Zoom calls. This is my second one; I originally had the one without wheels and I loved it, but decided I wanted wheels. I couldn’t find any wheels online I was happy with that I could add myself. I’m happy with my new one, except for one thing: the metal pole makes a horrible noise when I adjust the height! Like wake-everyone-in-the-house loud. It sounds like styrofoam rubbing together. The first one was very quiet, so I’m thinking this is just a problem with my particular stand, so I won’t deduct a star for it. I am currently looking for something to get rid of the screeching, though, because it’s grating.I’m not sure why some people are having problems with their tablets fitting. I have a 10.5 inch Samsung S4 and it fits easily, using the thickest adhesive pad. It’s a secure fit. I also am able to keep my silicone case on, which is nice.I had a bit of wobbling at first, but after taking a closer look at the screws at the base, I realized I had a couple that were slightly off. It’s imperative to make the base plate perfectly flush with the two crossed plates holding the wheels.I’ve seen some reviews about this stand not being tall enough (one person said 4 feet), and I wonder if they know the metal gooseneck extension pole pulls out of the black one. It’s definitely taller than 4 feet! As for problems with rotation being too tight, you adjust the Y screw to loosen or tighten to your liking. Very easy. One bit of advice (and it’s important, so learn from my mistakes!): HAVE SOMEONE ASSIST YOU WHEN ASSEMBLING THIS! It was rage-inducing trying to hold the two heavy metal pieces crossed and the base of the pole on top, perfectly aligned while holding the screws in straight, and screwing them in keeping the washer and nut from falling off from the other side using only my fingers – the tools provided were near useless – and I ended up with scrapes on my fingertips. It’s too heavy and cumbersome tipping it to put the screws in, I tried leaning it against my shoulder, but the heavy pieces kept slipping out of place or falling apart. Some better tools will help immensely. Don’t let this scare you away from getting this stand, though. With partner and a good wrench you’ll be fine.I just received this stand today and finished assembling it about two hours ago, so if I have any problems with it, I’ll update this review.
