I’m a First Responder that has an account with FirstNet. FirstNet is built by AT&T for First Responders. I called Weboost and was told that Weboost is not compatible with my FirstNet service because it runs on Band 14, which is not compatible with Weboost. She mentioned that the FCC does not allow signal boosters on the Band that FirstNet uses. Major bummer!

My business Territory is all of Vermont and Western Mass, decidedly rural and with lots of lightly populated area. In my half hour drive to my office, I have no signal from the end of my driveway until the last couple miles as I drive into town. Without this booster I could sometimes get a text in one 1/4 stretch, sometimes. With the booster installed I can sometimes keep a call going, with a few silent spots but still connected, all the way home. Overall, I now have coverage in maybe 90% of the areas where I had none. I used to have to look at my signal to decide if I could answer a call. Now there’s just a few places where I even think to check. It’s not perfect but It’s so worth the cost if you rely on your phone for business on the road. There were less expensive models but I know that every time I lost a call I’d think it was because I’d tried to save $100. By going for the top model I know I got the best I could and I’m sure I made the entire cost back quickly by being able to respond to call’s immediately instead of giving people a chance to think about calling my competitors while they wait for me.

I’m seeing ~25db signal gain. For anyone that ever goes through less than perfect coverage zones this is a great technology to stay connected.I debated a hardwired unit vs. 12v plug and ended up going with a plug because I liked the nicely located on/off switch on the plug. So far I’m seeing great results: ~25db increase and having a good experience taking video calls over LTE from my car.The amplifier has some heft to it and was easily hidden velcroed to the floor under my front passenger seat so I had no issues with size. I took advantage of a receiver/radio upgrade project to hide most of the wiring in existing cable runs/behind panels and mounted the interior radio behind the plastic dash so the only visible portions of this product are the 12v plug and the short run of exterior antenna cable from the door weather gasket to the antenna mounted on the roof.weBoosts aren’t cheap but I’d put one in any vehicle I planned to road trip in or if I was ever doing any work running other cables in the same general areas it would make sense to install a weBoost. Being compatible with so many devices/bands/technologies is a huge win and sold me on the weBoost products. The cost is well worth the increased cell coverage. One design decision note: there are plugs on the top and bottom of the amplifier, I would have preferred all 3 plugs (power, interior antenna, exterior antenna) all be on the same side of the amplifier for compactness of install/less chance to kick/break/damage an antenna/amplifier plug.

Outside antenna mounted on a 3′ mast above roof of my 24′ camper. Took some fiddling with positioning inside antenna to prevent red-light (feedback prevention shutdown) on the amplifier. Once that was figured out, worked great. Uses a bit less than 2 amps @ 12 volts. Cell signal for voice calls covers entire inside of camper. I use a 4G modem for my internet access, and I have that mounted directly adjacent to the inside antenna for the booster. I get between 10 and 15 Mbps both up and download speeds now, before booster install was around 1 to 2 Mbps down and 0.5 up. My camper is located about 15 miles as the crow flies from the nearest tower.

This thing is amazing. I have an irregular work schedule where I am frequently on call and free to do whatever. I live and work in a small city surrounded by National Forest and rural farm country, so cell service is spotty and thus risky business when I am on call. This thing really expands my range I am able to go and still be reachable. It’s important to note that this thing will not create a signal where there is not one, but it will take a marginal one and make it very strong.

I tested this briefly – brought me from 2 bars of reception to 3 bars, download speed increased from 15.6mbps to 24.5mbps, upload increased from 2.65mbps to 9.59mbps. So far it seems to work good!

We traveled from WI through SD with the best reception and internet connection. Ive traveled this before without this device and have had absolutely nothing for reception. We unplugged it and tested it was like going from 100 to 0 in just a blink reception wise. We traveled through the rocky mountains and reception was spoty but in an emergency it was better than nothing. We traveled through Yellowstone and Tetons with reception but internet was next to none. I have Sprint as my provider and my friend had Cellcom. He had more reception in the mountains with Cellcom than i did with Sprint. We did death valley and had a flat tire. We were able to get on the internet but it was slow. We could make calls as long as you were in the car and not moving around. If we hadnt bought the same device i would have kept this one its definitely a keeper and worker far better than i imagined it would. Well worth every penny.

I previously had a weboost cradle type booster, which worked decently well but we wanted to be able to use more phones at the same time and so we purchased this booster. It is more expensive but works really well, much better than the cradle booster that I had before. Yes, you have to be near the inner antenna, but I installed it between the front seats of the car and it works really well. We like dispersed camping in national forests and are often out of cellular range but using the we boost always goes from no service to 2-3 bars at our favorite campsite. We don’t always leave it on as it chews through the deep cycle battery which also powers our fridge/freezer but it totally worth it when you need the connectivity to download maps, make contact with family, get texts and emails, or just get on Facebook/insta/etc.I have also added the OTC antenna to our setup as well as using the fin antenna that came with my original driveSleek cradle (since I mounted it in the car already and the connectors/impedance are the same). With the new booster, we haven’t had to pull out the OTC antenna yet but if we get really deep in the backcountry and need signal, we will get it that way.Keep in mind, if there is no signal at all, you won’t have any signal. If there is a very weak signal, this thing will help the tower hear your phone. There are still a very few places that we don’t have any signal (deep hollows in the woods, etc) but it definitely extends the reach of the phone, enough that spending the money was worth it to us.

Easy to install. 3 min to register on Verizon. Doesn’t cost anything. Installs in about 2 min (more if you want it to look pretty etc). Added 44 dB to my signal with my phone in contact with the internal antenna. Only about 35 dB 12 inches away. Totally works. Totally awesome. It doesn’t fix zero signal like when I’m deep in the mountains, but sat phones are hit or miss there too. It’s great and I feel well worth the money. I use it in a 2019 Tacoma.

We live in Oregon and even though Verizon has one of the best rural coverages mountains and distance from towers are cause for poor signal strength often.Product has been as advertised and parts in kit are made of quality parts. If even one bar isn’t obtainable on my phone once the Weboost is cycled on we have had coverage in >90% of areas not able to before. Side note to this is I’ve noticed that if signal is getting weak even with Weboost on. Cycle it off and on again it will help your phone switch to a stronger tower strength rather than hanging on to the boosted signal from further tower. Remember to keep your cell phone within 8-10 in of inside antenna and can place phone right on it if signal is minimal. Yes.. cell phones are supposed to switch automatically but that doesn’t mean it does necessarily at the most optimal time. Lastly I wanted some additional accessories for my Weboost and the customer service person Maria was most helpful and made sure all my questions were answered before hanging up and not just rushing me through the process. Remember if there is NO signal to pick up it won’t magically create one for those that say it doesn’t work.
