Home/ElfClick vs Meta Business Agent
Honest Comparison

Meta’s AI answers your customers.
ElfClick takes the order.

In June 2026 Meta gave every business a free AI agent on WhatsApp. It is a good product. This page is not going to tell you otherwise — it is going to tell you what is different, and when you should just use theirs.

First, what Meta’s agent genuinely does

Taken from Meta’s own description, not from us. Their Business Agent:

  • answers questions specific to your business
  • makes product recommendations from your catalog
  • books appointments and qualifies incoming leads
  • closes sales, and hands over to a person when you decide it should
  • works across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger — nothing to install
  • sends you a morning briefing on the chats you missed overnight

It is free to start. If you have read a comparison page claiming Meta’s agent is a dumb auto-replier, that page is out of date or selling you something.

The actual difference: what you’re holding at the end

Both tools have the same conversation with your customer. They leave you with different things.

A very good conversation

The customer asked about sourdough, got an accurate answer, said “perfect, two for Friday, delivery”. In the morning you read the thread and work out what you agreed to.

An order

#AP-0093 — two loaves, $36.00, Friday delivery, address captured, priced from your catalog, total re-checked, waiting for you to tap approve.

That is the whole argument. Not “ours replies better” — a reply is not a sale, and reading back a day of chat threads is the work you were trying to get rid of.

Where we’re behind, stated plainly

  • Price. Theirs is free to start. Ours is a flat monthly fee.
  • Channels. They cover WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. We are WhatsApp only.
  • Setup. Theirs is switched on inside tools you already use. Ours needs you to connect your number once.

If those three are what matter most to you, use theirs. We would rather you did that than pay us and feel misled.

Frequently asked questions

Including the one most comparison pages leave out.

Is Meta's Business Agent free?
Yes. Meta made it free for businesses to start using when it launched globally on 3 June 2026, and says paid subscription tiers are coming. If cost is the deciding factor, that is a real advantage and we are not going to pretend otherwise.
What does Meta's Business Agent actually do?
In Meta's own words it answers questions specific to your business, makes product recommendations from your catalog, books appointments, qualifies incoming leads and closes sales. It runs across WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger, needs no software installed, lets you decide when a person steps in, and can send you a morning briefing on chats you missed. It is a capable product and it is free.
So what does ElfClick do differently?
The difference is what exists when the conversation ends. ElfClick writes an order: line items priced from your own catalog, the total re-added and checked, your rules applied, sitting in a dashboard waiting for you to approve it. A conversation that went well and an order you can act on are not the same object.
Does ElfClick actually enforce my rules, or just tell the AI about them?
Both, honestly, and the split matters. Rules that compile into a checkable condition — a minimum order value, a daily cap, a lead time — run as code on every order. Rules that can't be reduced to a condition, like tone, guide the AI through its instructions. And a rule the system can't turn into a check gets flagged on the order for you rather than quietly assumed. We would rather tell you which is which than claim everything is enforced.
What can ElfClick refuse to do that a general assistant won't?
One example is concrete: if an order conflicts with an allergy the customer has told you about, it can never be auto-confirmed, even for a merchant who has auto-approve switched on. That is the single case where convenience is overridden. Prices are also resolved from your catalog rather than composed in the reply, and if a total doesn't add up it is corrected and the correction is written on the order.
Do I have to choose one?
Not really. Meta's agent lives on your WhatsApp Business account across Meta's apps. ElfClick runs on the official WhatsApp Business Platform. Plenty of businesses will be well served by the free agent alone — see below for when that is genuinely the right call.
When is Meta's free agent the better choice for me?
When most of your messages are questions rather than orders; when you are on Instagram and Messenger as much as WhatsApp; when your catalog and prices are simple and stable; when you are happy to write the order down yourself afterwards; or when your budget is zero. Any of those, and paying us would be paying for something you do not need yet.
